Punching an opponent while he is lying on the ice isn't even acceptable in the NHL, which allows a lot more violence than Finnish hockey. I'd like to apologize to Finland on behalf of Canada. That's not hockey. I hope the other guy is OK.
that's not even that bad. gloved helmet swats. crosby/subban-tier. the old world is a funny place. Zero tolerance for violence. 8 games is draconian for that unless he was on thin ice already.

Well, I learned where Ritchie ended up, and that the player leading his team in points wears a gold helmet in LIIGA. So the day isn't a dead loss.
