#Canucks G.M. Jim Benning announced that the club has signed goaltender Jaroslav Halak to a one-year contract that includes $1.5 million in salary and $1.5 million in performance bonus eligibility.
Halak, 36, appeared in 19 games for the Bruins last season including 17 starts, posting a 9-6-4 record to go along with a 2.53 goals-against average and .905 save percentage.
The 5’11”, 185-pound netminder is a two-time winner of the William M. Jennings Trophy (2012, 2020). He has played 539 career games over 15 NHL seasons split between Montreal, St. Louis, Washington, N.Y. Islanders, and Boston, registering a 281-173-62 record and a career 2.48 goals-against average. Since making his NHL debut in 2006.07, Halak ranks tied for fifth among all goaltenders with 52 shutouts.

I am praying to god the Canucks make it to the playoffs this year! It's about time
Beauty!
Hope this makes up for the Holtby trade
He’s alright
2011?
This is a pretty good signing.
Canucks had a very solid free agency. Liking on what they required this year, depth guys and also picking up size on defence.
Canucks, please don't ever make me listen to the Bruin's announcer again.
Hate the Hamonic signing (personal reasons, I know he played fine) love everything else.
I know we're still screwed on cap next year as JB was only focused on saving his job this year but we are good this year so I'll just enjoy it and move on.
His lateral movement is very good, that is probably why Ian Clark wanted Halak.
With bonuses he could make 3 million though…
Vancouver looks like a better team on paper but until we see them play all we can do is hope
Because of Jim Benning's good work this offseason, the canucks as of right now with Pettersson and Hughes look like a playoff team. Hope we can sign both Pettersson and Hughes and we won't get too many injuries next season
The off-season trades are amazing. I’ll be defiantly picking him for my hockey pool draft . I’m soooo pumped for new season . It’s coming Canuck fans be ready and get excited .
Why did they sign him ?…..he had one good playoff….spectacular even !…..then nothing since. And I mean nothing !
Guess my new team is Vancouver. From East Canada
Can't wait to see what kind of net minding Halak does for us welcome to the club. GO CANUCKS
This will be a grate season
