Arber Xhekaj Does it Again/Farell/Roy/Mailloux/Dobes Continue to Produce 12-30-23

Arber Xheka continues to be on a roll in Laval as he not only picked up his 2nd of the season, 5th point in the last 4 games and 8 the last 9, but his presence helped in what was back to back physical battles with their rivals from Syracuse. Laval was struggling badly and then the Habs send them a lifeline as you can go back and watch most of my Laval vids pre-Xhekaj how often this team would struggle with defensive breakdowns to how they look lately. Of course the coaching staff has their credit due as well as this team is clearly playing much better hockey then it was in the first 2 or 3 weeks of the season.

Joshua Roy continues his impressive season, scoring his 10th which no Laval player has scored more. He’s got 8 points in the last 9 games. Logan Mailloux seems to have also benefitted from the Xhekaj demotion as the offense has really started to show and he’s been since rewarded with a move to the top PP unit. He’s got 17 points in the last 26 games. Sean Farrell continues show progression as he now has 15 points in the last 19 games. Jakub Dobes is 5-1-1 in his last 6, 2 of them he’s let in just 1 goal.

Dobes – stopped 25 of 26
Xhekaj – 1 goal, 2 shots, +1
Roy – 1 goal, 4 shots, +1
Farrell – 1 goa, 3 shots, Even
Mailloux – 1 assist, 1 shot, 2 pims, Even
Heineman – 1 assist, 3 shots, Even
Simoneau – 2 assists, 2 pims, +1
Trudeau – 1 assist, Even
Mysak – 1 goal, 2 shots, +1

Farrell Goal – 2:08
Xhekaj Goal – 6:34
Roy Goal -10:13

  1. I started having a feeling he was sent down to help the team 2 days ago (or at the very least, his demotion turned out to be a huge help for laval, i just wish we had a physical presence in the NHL). I kinda feel vindicated reading your description. His first game was absolute dogshit, but he's doing well now.

  2. That Farrell goal showcased why this organizytion is too small and struggles.Small soft players tend to play the perimeter and why the original shot was weak and had no chance of going in but luckily one player went to the net and was rewarded with a rebound goal.Typically with only one small player going to the net he gets tied up or knocked down this was a rare case he was open enough but this org needs to change their ways quit lining up around the perimeter get that puck to the net and bodies to the net.
3 on one no shot on goal …sigh.Nice to see Arber getting goal amazing when you aim the shot instead of just throwing it at the goalie.
I have zero interest in Dobes he just slides around on his knees he is not a good goalie.

  3. 24 and 72 need to be patrolling the #1 D-line in Montreal! How does management not see this? They are both NHL caliber players rotting on a horrible Laval team. The guys up front on this team seem like they don't mind losing… a lot! when are they gonna get there reward to go up and salvage a dismal NHL club???

  4. What's freakishly weird and really cool is that both Arber and Florian scored goals at exactly the same time. GO XHEKAJ BROS!!!!
