Concerning Trends

Hey y’all, checking the standings this morning has given me a cause for concern that I’m curious if anybody shares.

Before the Anaheim game on 11/5, Vegas was a stupid good 11-0-1, despite not playing their best hockey at times during that 12-game point streak. Since the L to Anaheim that night however, and despite a 9-game point streak mixed into this, Vegas is an NHL .500 11-11-4 in their last 26 games, and more concerning, Vegas is now only 2-5 in their last 7 (time to admit they’re in a slump). In this time, Vancouver has passed Vegas for the division lead, Edmonton has risen from the dead and is now becoming a problem in regards to stealing a top-3 spot in the division, and even Seattle has been hot lately with their 8-game point streak. With Vancouver pulling ahead like they have, Edmonton FLYING up the standings with the hot run they’re on (they’re 14-3-0 in their last 17 games), and Seattle’s hot run as of late, while Vegas is on this frustrating slump, is there a legitimate reason to be concerned about this team’s ability to turn this around with who they currently have, despite knowing that 2 very important players have been out of the lineup?

I personally believe Hill & Theodore’s FULLY HEALTHY returns will greatly help, but I’m curious if more needs to happen with this team, and if so, what particularly do they need to work on? What needs to change from certain players? Are the VGK in a position where a move from management needs to happen to bolster a currently struggling roster?

I would love to know your thoughts, because personally from me, I do not like what I’ve been seeing lately, both from the VGK, and from in the division.

Am I concerned? Yes. Do I think that we can get through it? Most definitely. Every good team has its ups and its downs but I think the main focus is getting guys healthy, playing good fundamental hockey, and not letting the struggles get the best of us. I think Hill and theos health is a big key to our success. Maybe a move before the deadline to help the team can be a good thing. We dont need to be a first place team to dominate in the playoffs, sure it would help. I think they need to focus on the weaker areas to improve. We beat good teams when we need to and lose to bad teams when we shouldnt. I wouldnt say its time to panic yet but there is def room for improvement

talk to me in mid february. is it ok/normal to show some concern? sure. however, vegas slumped this time last year as well and we all know how that turned out.

now if we get to march and these losing trends are still consistently happening then yes, absolutely break out the panic button.

Nothing matters until you’re in the playoffs

Don’t worry soon we’ll inject everyone with whatever we pumped Mark Stone with during the playoffs last year and we’ll be as good as gold

We will see when Hill comes back. It’s pretty clear to me that Thompson is not ready to take the load of a starter just yet, and that’s fine. He’s still young. We just need to hang on and make sure everyone is 100% when it’s showtime.
