Gotta hand it to Carolina, they came out and played like defending Metro Division champions and the Rangers played like they were hung over. Hope they shake it off and get it together for the Blackhawks.
The Rangers offense is good enough to make it to the Stanley cup. The defense however, not so much. The defense seriously needs to get it together otherwise it's going to suck watching the Rangers in the playoffs.
Carolina continues to play a line defense keeping the Ranger attack from penetrating, a style of game Carolina has used in the last 5 years and you know the old saying " if it works don't fix it " and the Rangers played a lopsided game tilted the ice to one side and their passing was ridiculous. Don't blame Igor his job is to stop the puck the others are suppose to control the puck .
Last night was like watching the Hindenburg crash
Off nights happen. They all had a bad night It seemed to me. Although if you're going to lose, this is the kind of loss I'd rather have where it's just an off night for the team. It's always more concerning if your team is playing their best hockey and still can't win the game in the end. With the way we've been playing in general this season I'm not concerned at all. Even in the playoffs teams get the opportunity to have three bad games. As long as these bad ones end up few and far between I'm still fully confident in the Rangers this season.
That was ugly.
Rangers have lost badly to three aggressive checking teams. The league has figured out how to beat them. Unless they adapt their game to deal with this kind of opponent the playoffs will be ugly.
Credit to Canes, but Rangers were very sloppy and slow.
Fox in particular looked bad!
