  1. Makes sense. State of hockey should guarantee full stands for all the games. Close to the border for Canadians to come down. Tons of Germans and Swedes in Minnesota as well.

  2. Natural-Web-6978

This will be epic. Even as a Canadian I’m really excited for this.

  3. MNGopherfan

Listen the Golden Knights might have fans but Minnesota is “The State of Hockey” there is gonna be full houses in those rinks and if Minnesota can pack an NHL arena for the high school hockey tournament it will be full house for the World juniors.

One is a logical, great host city and the other is a cash grab. Surprised with the right decision here

  5. hebbocrates

Nice, that’ll be fuckin awesome. Back to back years of Ottawa + twin cities will be electric

  6. Ok-Season-3433

It’s always great news to see an actual hockey market that is passionate about hockey hosting this!

Besides, why on earth would they have it in Vegas? These kids won’t be able to do 60% of what that city has to offer 😂

  7. manhaterxxx

It’d be fun as hell in Vegas. If they were over 21.

    LET’S GO!!!

I’ve been waiting so long for the World Juniors to be hosted here.

    Unbelievably hyped!!

Wow, what a twist! Minnesota beating Vegas for the World Juniors? Talk about an underdog story! Who would’ve thought? But hey, that’s the beauty of sports, always keeping us on our toes. Congrats to Minnesota for proving that anything is possible in the game of hockey!

Makes more sense…great city to host the actual sport where the other city just wants it as a cash grab.

State of hockey versus shit desert, right choice was made here only because Gary wasn’t making it

  12. jodihas2kids

As a Winnipegger with a son who also loves hockey, I approve of this choice (and future roadtrip).

  13. Seems like the right choice. But it would be interesting to see if Vegas could pull it off.

  14. Totes_mc0tes

Good. These days there is too much good hockey being wasted on non hockey fans.

I don’t follow NHL this deeply, but is there a reason why Detroit is not hosting an All-Star game or a tournament considering we’ve got a brand new barn here. It’s a gorgeous rink, but yet we can’t get an All-Star game or any of that shit here.. The last time Detroit hosted an All-Star Game was February 1980…I’m 43 so that makes it older than me but they build Ford Field in two years or so later we have a Super Bowl here in Detroit..What the hell is going on Gary,NHLPA??

  16. CapableWill8706

I think they are great places for the juniors…lots of hockey fans there.

  17. Successful-Base-8861

Yeah that’s what I’m saying you know and don’t forget the fans of not only Detroit but the original six I mean I’m happy Toronto has the All-Star Game this year that’s great now give it to Detroit next year not the original six have a taste city of Detroit I live in a suburb of could definitely use a little bit of extra income it’s come a long way but all star week and a whole ordeal when we had the Super Bowl the city was booming it would be the same with an All-Star event. I am happy the game is growing, but like you said, don’t forget the people that started it because they were here before him, and they’ll be here long after him.

Good, players wouldn’t be able to enjoy Vegas anyway. Town kinda sucks when you’re under 21

  19. tcgreen67

When the tournament is in the US it gives the American fans a chance to to watch Russia(Soviets) or Canada win the gold medal in person. 😛

  20. GreenEyedBandit

Good choice. WTF are the kids gonna do in Vegas anyway, see a magic show?

  21. Surprised by this but very pleased lol everything in America right now seems to be jerking off Vegas so it’s nice to see a decision made in logical reality rather than being money focused

  22. Now can we get it broadcast on something other than NHL Network? That would literally be the icing on the cake

  23. Strypes4686

Vegas would be a stupid choice for Juniors anyways….. That city is built for the 21 and up crowd not a bunch of teams with players under 20.

  24. Longjumping-Limit827

Vegas thinks they deserve everything for nothing lol Minnesota more cold than 🦬

  25. Tutelage45

Why would juniors wanna go to Vegas? They’d be bored stiff and contract soooo many stds. Good call by the league
