I seem to be one of the only pens fans in favor of trading Guenztel, even though he’s great
Pens are basically the Canuck's farm team
Perfect trade destination for someone like Kuzmenko who is still potent and has trade value, but who isn't having the greatest time with their current team. Easily the biggest hole in the depth chart right now is not a particular spot — rather, it's the question of "how can we finally find a good fit for Petey after three months of banging our heads against the wall?" And I will say that Jake may not just be your answer to that question now, but he could even be a potential extension with $31M being shed from the payroll after the end of the season and multiple ELC's looking good at the World Juniors which provides relatively easy answers to filling the depth positions next year. Definitely a good idea for a thought experiment at the very least.

I'd do podkolkin and a 1st at most but you have to have a route to sign guenzel.
If Rutherford could offer Garland + a pick but Garland doing really well now but he's someone Pittsburgh was interested in.
I don't think Canucks need to add on more offense just more better defense is what I think is the main concerns.
Guenztel if your able to get a deal without adding on any Canucks high valued prospects.
I could care less about this years draft class to be honest.
They need to make cap work also, so you need to get rid of 5 million in cap also, so it would need to be like Garland, or Kuz, or Garland, plus the prospect plus the pick. There is no way that is worth it as subtracting those players makes us weaker. The most I would do is maybe Garland, Raty, and 2025 1st. Even that, I am not so sure if that is enough to put us over the top to beat out any of the true contenders.
Who goes the other way? You have create room to meet Cap. I have been saying that Kuzmenko and Podz or Garland and Podz. Closer to the deadline would work for Podz and a 2nd but Penguins would need to retain 50% but even that Canucks would still be 3 mill over the cap.
