This Canucks Prospect is TAKING OVER | WJC 2024

Tom Willander, Jonathan Lekkerimaki and Elias Pettersson are 3 Vancouver Canucks prospects all playing great for Sweden in the 2024 WJC as they beaty Switzerland in today’s matchup. Lekkerimaki had a goal and an assist, EP2 continues to play a good physical game and Willander is very composed. Semi-Finals are next against Czechia!

  1. The refs were awful but people act like Sweden didn’t deserve it, 4 bar hits and double the amount of shots, This game I got a bit of Canada – Slovakia 2023 OT vibes since Canada was hosts but were so close to fail on home ice. Sweden – USA gold medal I predict

  2. Willander, is committed to BU. When their season is over, could he go to Abbotsford. Would that mess up "amateur " status.

At least he's playing small ice. Against men years older.

Offensive numbers in Sweden are misleading. Often a young prospect gets four minutes, or is still said to have played, when they're in the press box.

  3. The Canucks don't need another Quinn Hughes. They need a top 2 and top 4 D man or 2 top 4s who can defend, eat minutes and play a steady game. Willander and Pettersson look like those guys. And Lekkerimaki looks like a pure sniper. Good stuff so far.
