Y all must be excited about yeah I’m super excited um haven’t been home since uh since the summer so uh you know it’ll be great to see some friends you know some family will be at the game um I’m excited it’ll be really fun how about just walking in that building and

Playing on that ice surface as an NHL player yeah that’s going to be super special you know coming out to fix you um being in that building will be really really cool you know last time I’ve been in there is probably I don’t know while

Back when I was a kid well watch have G so um it’ll be cool to be on the other side of it so you’re obviously you’re trying to focus for a game but is that one morning skate you might look around for like a minute or two yeah for sure

You know soak it in for a little bit morning skate maybe a little bit warm up um during on Ice warm-ups um but you know when the puck drops it’s it’s it’s time to play uh just like any other game what stood out in your mind about when

Carrie Price was the man 10 years ago he owned the city yeah you know he was so dominant um and he did it without looking like he was trying that was the coolest fight I think so um he’s such a good goalie um you know growing up

Watching him definitely gave me a lot of inspiration really good person also I had the chance to meet him a few times so um you know it was uh really cool to have him as a as a role model being so close in the city so um it was uh it was

Definitely special growing up how much were you I mean into the history of the team when you grew up you know getting into the history and knowing maybe the players you weren’t even alive when they played there but just knowing who they are what they did

Yeah you know I think you know my dad would always talk to me about um past players and you know the history behind the team like you know Ken dren was a pretty cool pretty cool guy wearing the first helmet so um I remember had I had

Like a replica of his um in my house growing up I used to wear for street hockey um it’s like the the just a flat flat with the stripes the blue and red so um you know it’s it’s uh it’s pretty cool you know there’s obviously a lot of

History in that building um some really good hockey players have been playing there for a really long time on that ice so it’ll be it’ll be really cool to you know be be in that crease you know a lot of really good goalies are there for me

So um it’ll be it’ll be special for sure I’ll bring up one more Patrick Yeah Patrick W for sure you know I I just named one but you know there’s there’s a whole Legacy of goalies in the I’d probably be here all day if I went through all them so you know there

There’s so many really good really good hockey players let alone go what did you take from the Ottawa game I mean the end of the first period you made so many saves to hold the team in it was two to one and just weird bounces in the second

I mean what was your takeaway it was a four goal game where you made a lot of saves yeah for sure I think that’s how it goes sometimes um you know I just gota I just got to try to keep the team in the game as long as possible so um I

Think uh you know we we have the ability to score so you know if I do my job and just hold them in long enough um I have no doubt that the boys will put some behind that so um I think that you know next time I would have like to hold them

To two or to one a little bit longer um and I think as a group we would have liked that also we let it slip away a little bit in the second so um you know moving forward um you know that’s kind of a game that you know you learn from

And you let it go in the past and you focus on mreal so um there are a lot of good lessons but um it’s time to turn the page on that game and focus on the other I was going to say is it possible just to say it’s a new year

2024 we can’t do anything about before let’s start year let’s go yeah for sure I mean um it’s uh it’s a new year and there’s going to be a whole lot of ups and downs this year so you know all you can do is take the lessons that you learn in 2023

And bring them into 2024 so um I think uh we’re all really excited to you know start the new year how how is the practice time situation now that two goalies instead of three uh yeah I mean a little bit more ice time um which is nice but it was

Great having comms around uh really good guy in the locker room and you know he’s a great goalie and I learned from him as well when when he was in the crease so I didn’t mind it you know I got my work in

Either way um if if I you know we had a three goal rotation going I didn’t get enough work then I’d stay out after practice and get some more so it’s was never really a problem
