Russo has Lost It

Good to see an accredited hockey reporter is justifying an intentional high stick done to try and injure another player. Insane and embarrassing stuff.

Russo is off base with his remarks.

The jets aired it because all he got was a fine for intentionally trying to remove a kids teeth.
When he had nothing to do with any of the previous incidents.

Seeing a professional beat writer have a full week long tantrum like this has been pretty entertaining lol

“Indefinitely”? Dramatic much? Dudes out for 1-2 weeks.

  4. This is completely unhinged. Does this dude really think like this?

They can’t grasp the fact that the wild are the ones with the nasty rep which is why they see the worst of every team they face. Grudges all around the league with players like hartman, foligno, maroon, (-Reeves now,)

The only reason Stanley was dressed that game was because of that reputation, let’s be real.

They want to be that physical playoff style hockey team but can’t take what they dish out, and their fans are up in arms about the aggressive crosschecking in the corners and players dropping like flies when the other side rises to the challenge.

They should aim their frustrations at the management for not building an actual winning hockey team, with actual top line talent to support their star instead of goons to turn the game into a fucking pissing contest.

    HAHAHAHAHAHA…

yeah the team with 100 less penalty minutes is “the Bad guy” in all this…..

I’m trying to separate my Jets fandom when looking at this whole situation, but I honestly feel gaslit seeing some of the discussion around the Dillon crosscheck on Kaprizov! It’s a crosscheck that happens dozens of times a game, and Kirill gave one back of equal value.

Also LMAO to Russo’s “allegedly”, there’s video/audio evidence!

Hartman takes out Ehlers last year! These guys are actual clowns.

If this was the other way around, and Jon Merrill injured Scheifele with some routine cross checks during a board battle, Wild fans would be calling us pussies for complaining about it. They would be right to, because it was an unfortunate result from a play that happens 50 other times every game. Not to mention, there were 2 fights spanned across 2 different games that were supposed to have settled it. I think the original cross checks should have been penalized, and I’m fine with the fights that followed, but that’s where the game should have finished policing itself. Guys like this and that idiot Mayers are enabling scumbags like Hartman who take cheap shots at guys that can’t defend themselves.

Hartman should two hand stick chop some sense into this guy.

When a team is performing in a way that was better than expected and another team is not, it can bring out jealousy.

In retrospect, Jets fans were pretty chill about Strome injuring KC.

You should’ve seen the Sportsnets panel from last nights 1st intermission of the Leafs/Ducks game..

He’s just another desperate “media” writer who’s using hate clicks for attention otherwise no one would acknowledge his existence

I’ve had some pretty shitty takes on this lately and after going into the wild sub I regret it because they have so far been pretty level headed about it. I actually agree 100% with what is mostly being said in their sub. What Hartman did was dirty and didn’t really solve anything and likely just causes more troubles for an obvious retaliation if you read into Bones post game comments “if our team had known that was intentional during the game blah blah blah”.

But I also agree that the league should look into those cross checks that happen 200 times a game. If you want to “push” a player out of the net front, or into the boards during a puck battle, do so with your hands TOGETHER on your stick so you push with your gloves. So instead of your hands shoulders plus width apart, slide them together to push. I think that is fair. You can still knock the player off balance but the small of your back etc is saved.

Because let’s be honest, if I am on the ice and I am aiming a cross check for the single area on a player where there is no padding… what is the intention there?

This is such a brutal take. Last year Kaprizov literally said it was just an unfortunate fall that hurt him. This year it’s a completely routine crosscheck and Kaprizov gives Dillion one back way harder right after but no one seems to be mentioning that. It’s unfortunate he’s been hurt two years in a row but it’s not like we’ve been going out of our way to do it, unlike some teams… say Minnesota? And to say the Jets are doing this to move the story away from themselves? Just brutal. Jets are doing this because this is the second time DoPS have shafted us. The takes coming out over this incident are blowing my mind. Don’t know how anyone can defend this play, the Wild, or Hartman in all this.
