  1. If he doesn't produce with extra ice-time on the 1st line with Bertuzzi and Larkin, I think it'll be clear he's overrated.

  2. He's been coached by Blashill a defense first coach, with Alex Tanguay running the offense and it looking better, we shall see how he does this year

  3. Yzerman and Blashill are forcing him to play an elite two-way style. Actually a similar thing happened to Yzerman when he was a young player too.

  4. With Vrana out I'm hoping he takes the bull by the horns and earns first line respectability. He better because Bergs and Raymond are coming. Yzerman demonstrated with Mantha he only has so much patience and Zadina wasn't his pick so time to step it up

  5. Thing with Zadina is that he is playing just too safe, he plays nothing like in his first call up. I think it is bad coaching, pushing him to play two way game instead of being offensive. Anyway it was just one preseason game, there is still chance this will be his breakout year.

  6. This is his make or break year. He needs to work on his shot accuracy otherwise I can see him being replaced while his value is still high at the deadline.

  7. You pointed some fairs facts about Zadina but I just find you are a little bit too much alarmist with Zadina kid just need to have fun and leaving up some negative pressure and He would be an absolute beast no doubt !

  8. His point totals from this past season don’t really tell the whole story. He was one of if not the best defensive forward on the team so the points will come eventually. I’m sure he knows that he’s gonna be signing a contract after this season so I think he’s gonna have a big offensive year while still maintaining his defensive game, but yeah this is gonna be a big year for him if he wants to solidify a top 6 role. Idk if this is asking a lot but I’m expecting at least 50 points from him

  9. The mans confidence aint what it was when he was drafted. That first year he came to training camp his shot was lights out, now the man just cant seem to hit the net.

  10. Zadina, Raymond, Rasmussen, Velano, Seider, Tutyayev, Cossa… are all KIDS! All of them, and more, are high upside picks and probably going to have very good careers. GO WINGS!!

I can't wait to see what studs Yzerman will draft in the next 2 yrs.

  11. incredibly frustrating player to watch on offensive, he's hesitating before he shoots and thinking way too hard you can see the gears turning in his head.. it's causing turnovers and not getting shots on net. the two way game has really developed he's so close to breaking out. they're trying to get him in places to score but he isn't (shootout and powerplay)..

  12. Also when the top line was Larkin, Mantha, and Bertuzzi who has been his center most nights? When the Blashill line blender goes into effect can we expect him to produce with Glendening as his center?

  13. Yeah he lacks confidence. But 85% of the team is lacking confidence. From the way that they have played the last 5 years, our offense has obviously been crappy, nobody shoots the puck, they really lack in passing the puck and also receiving the puck. It’s was almost as
If they haven’t practiced anything offensive at all for the last few years. Hopefully this changes with tanguay. having Lucas Raymond has impacted huge, he will actually pass through the zone instead of everybody just passing around the zone and then taking an easily predicted shot. I see zadina being good on the blue line, and other times at the net roughing up the defense to get good chances. He just has to try harder, everybody just has to try harder. I just want to see life put back into the team, I want to see some fight. If they actually fight for a win they will be a great team. We may have lost an absurd amount of games, but consider the fact that a lot of those games were 1 goal games, and if they fought harder, added some creative flair, and if every individual put themselves in a position to do what they were know for they would have won I feel half of those 1 goal games. I feel like the new coach and Raymond will get us on the straight and narrow, this is their year, this is where they turn it around and become a threat. And if it isn’t then we need to get rid of Blash. Because what has happened over his tenure is completely unacceptable.

  14. I think Zadina and Larkin are both overrated in comparison to what people expected them to be. Both are decent generic style players to fill the roster, 2nd / 3rd line skill. Neither have superstar/elite potential. Larkin is a diver and a whiner and is always trying to draw penalties. If he stayed on his skates he would be a better player. But I digress.

  15. I remember a two goal game for Zadina and the same thing kind of happened…. Twice. The pass got in closer to his skates than he wanted so instead of winding up he dropped low Brett Hull style and the stick did the work as Brett would say. He may want to pattern his game after the Golden one.

  16. One more point… I think that the timeframe is at the end of his two year bridge (prove it) deal. In other sports Zadina is in his senior year on a good college team or in his rookie season if he was drafted his junior year. 25 is the age where is say you've got to show something worth keeping. Not even his peak… Just enough to say we're better off with you than without you.
