GAME RECAP: Penguins at Boston (01.04.24) | An Eventful Evening

Traveling to Boston, the Pittsburgh Penguins took on the Bruins. Much like the Penguins’ last game, they gave up a goal in the first minute by Brad Marchand. But the 1st period was an eventful one and the Penguins didn’t let their early setback stop them. Drew O’Connor and Ryan Graves scored within minutes of each other to take the lead. David Pastrnak tied the game quickly after but Jake Guentzel Got a goal of his own to take the lead. Later in the period, Lars Eller also got a goal to end the period 4-2 for the Penguins. Jeff Carter started the 2nd period with a goal. But the Bruins were starting their comeback. Morgan Geekie and Jake DeBrusk both getting goals. The lead was now only 5-4 for the Penguins. Marchand tied the game with a goal early in the 3rd. Sidney Crosby rose to the occasion and got the win for the Penguins with his goal halfway through the 3rd. Even with Boston pulling their goalie for an extra attacker, they could not get a 6th goal. The Penguins won 6-5.

  1. Terrible to have to come back after being up 5-2 and to let it be tied with a SH goal no less. The team points don't reflect it but terrible defensive effort from this team all around.

  2. So glad we beat the overrated bruins! Lol This is why they got bounced in the first round last year. Sid is still the GOAT 🐐!🤷🏻‍♂️👌

  3. Fun game to watch. Don't want many games with 5 goals against. You don't when many of them but pens did tonight. Wasnt nedeljkovic best game but felt bad for both goaltenders. Pucks went in off a lot of bodies tonight

  4. I’ll take the win but giving up that 3 goal lead made me sick and angry!! Goals that shouldn’t have been let in, another short handed one which we so very well let teams have, COME ON!!!

  5. Underrated part of this game. Jeff Carter. Outside of his goal, he played the type of game needed against a team like the Bruins. He got under their skin in that 3rd period directly leading to the game winner.

  6. It is nice the Pens put up 6 tonight and held on to the win, but that defense was awful 😖 keep fighting boys! Go Pens Go!!

  7. Classic penguins giving up a multi goal lead. Goaltending is a joke.
If I were Mike Sullivan I would quit, why not? This team has already given up

  8. I'm a Penguin fan and I'm not gunna lie that SH goal by 63 was nasty.
He worked Tanger and shot a beauty
Good win Pens stop giving up big leads
