The Dallas Stars late push comes up short against Montreal | Wyatt Johnston finally scores!

Wyatt Johnston and Jason Robertson score with the extra attacker late as the Stars made a late push but fall to the Montreal Canadiens 4-3. The Canadiens best players, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield and Juraj Slafkovsky all had big nights to help Montreal snap a three game losing skid. On today’s episode of Locked On Stars, the main takeaway from the loss it multi goal deficits. The Stars have been in that position too many times this season, in a game they should have won and we’re clearly the better team they are unable to get points. Joey applauds the effort to even make it a one goal game, but at some point those deficits will catch up to you. Special teams was the deciding factor in the game, Caufiled’s tally on the man advantage was the game winner and at the time extended the Canadiens lead to 4-1. The Stars had a chance to tie the game at two in the 2nd period, but came up empty in a key situation that has happened all too often. The final segment was the player of the game, Wyatt Johnston finally scored a goal after 16 games without one and picked up an assist on Jamie Benn’s goal 11 seconds into the game. The monkey is off the back and hopefully will lead to bigger things, because when he’s playing well the Stars are a tough team to beat.

  1. I honestly wasn’t even mad when it was 4-1. Wedge had an off night. Habs goalie was phenomenal. Dallas was clearly the better team, but the Habs played great as well. Would have loved 2 but it was still a very entertaining game.

  2. Any update on Oettinger’s health status?? How long is he going to be out?? The Stars are in third place 🥉 in the Central Division as of now. Will there be a defensive acquisition at the deadline?? I wish their 8 goal performances were more consistent they’ve only had three of them this season. Wedgwood didn’t have a good night in goal 🥅. They have to be better against the Colorado Avalanche.

  3. Really enjoy watching those physical games. I feel that’s when the boys really get a kick into that next gear. Marchment, Benn, Hawk, IMO play their best when it’s gritty. Throw some extra pepper in there with Sam Steel because that’s his style every game. Go Stars!
