The problem is that these stats don’t take into account the most important thing….WINNING. I am sick as a sabres fan of having high talent guys with great advanced stats but we still miss the playoffs. We have tons of depth with undersized skilled players that are not tough enough for the NHL. Let’s trade a few of these prospects for some grit to round out our team and make the playoffs for a change. Keep Benson Quinn JJ and maybe 1-2 other undersized forwards, and trade the rest for guys that aren’t afraid to go into the corners and in front of the net.

Östlund was great the entire tournament, if he had been able to score one or two more goals of his chances I think he’d win tournament MVP. He and Lekkerimäki were really electric together.

Östlund may have passed both Kulich and Savoie on the prospect depth chart now. He plays a very complete game for his age. Kulich’s shot is amazing, but he really needs to improve the rest of his game. Outside of his shot, is there any aspect of his game thats NHL level right now? Probably not.
