Saturday evening the Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the Buffalo Sabres for the second time this season. This was the third time these two teams have matched up, each having won one game. Only 3 minutes into the game, the Sabres’s Alex Tuch scored. The pace was sharply picked up after, with the Penguins controlling the puck for the remainder of the period. Not helping the momentum the Penguins had two disallowed goals and the Sabres kept the lead into the 2nd. The next period was more evenly matched with both teams getting grade-A chances but no additional goals were scored. Halfway through the 3rd, Pittsburgh was given a 5-on-3 powerplay. Evgeni Malkin passed the puck from the goal line to the faceoff dot for Erik Karlsson to take a slap pass. Waiting on the backdoor for a tip-in was Rickard Rakell to even the score. The Penguins kept the pressure on totalling 44 shots by the end of the game. Unfortunately, the Sabres had a late answer to take back the lead. Adding to their lead, as Tristan Jarry was skating toward the bench for the extra attacker, Rasmus Dahlin shot the puck down the ice and into the net. The game ended 3-1 in favor of the Sabres.

Pittsburgh Penguins, these Waved Off goals that didn’t Count have Caused Confusion and Delay!
what in the world has happen to #19. buddy had 6 goals thru his first 10 games of the season, and has scored just TWO more in the following 28 games.
Starts and ends.
Jerry has got to go
That’s rough..
What a frustrating tilt! Feel like that goalie interference call was extremely soft and why the delay of game not chalked off, when the replay show Buffalo tipped it over the glass??
A goalie initiating contact with a players back outside the paint is not goalie interference, sheesh 🙄
0 for 3 on breakaways
Rackell needs to go
Dude 😂 “that was sick!!!!” Coolest line ever lol
Coaches challenge: were the player's skates laced properly before the goal.
Ruling on the ice: laces did not match. No goal.
Surprised on the power play that buffalo didn't challenge pens too many men on the ice
And of course Jarry can't come up big when needed in the 3rd. classic jarry. remember this game when we miss playoffs by a point. He can never bear down and show clutch goaltending in the 3rd.
