That’s how you beat an asshole reporter. Positivity always wins against them

  2. Difficult-Ad-2228

Unfortunately, 586 Japanese children had epileptic attacks reading the subtitles. Not part of the dream.

  3. Edm_vanhalen1981

that is the difference between class and ass.

  4. Saggers77

Wow that was awesome. What an amazing response. Love this dude now!

  5. What a true legend, doesn’t let negativity get to him

  6. Antique-Ad-4233

Spector is such an ass. Gotta find a new younger voice for Oilers reporting my goodness.

  7. theleafsnation420

I would say I make way more than you to have fun playing a sport to the best of my ability and walk away.

  8. JerseySpot

Wow!!!! I am now a fan!!! And hope he kills it going forward!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. hellodbone

    Great answer.

Well thought out. He is a smart guy.

  10. nicksj2023

Man mark Spector is such a douchebag. He’s really become the Canadian larry brooks 🤮

Spec is the king of getting amazing quotes from guys. Don’t know how the team puts up with it, I sure as shit couldn’t, but it just makes the fans love the players so much more when they quip back with something like this. Hats off to Skinny.

  12. PancakeLord2k3

at the end of the day, those same fans will be cheering you on in your successes. great response stu, from a jets and flyers fan

  13. DepressoEspresso45

Spec always asks the stupidest questions. Hate that guy.

  14. _redacteduser

Gdi I’m in. Add a new good guy to the list of players I’ll watch.

  15. Longjumping-Mud5713

Honestly curious and hopeful to see this guy completely turn it around after this interview. Go Skinner…p.s. this man probably has the best porn stache in all of hockey

  16. Great response Skinner! Spector is the most antagonistic reporter ever. Usually it’s better to just shut him down immediately, he loves to twist players words and emotions. I hope Spector slipped on some ice in the parking lot.

He’s such a great guy, I felt so bad for all the shit he was getting at the beginning of the season. I saw a game in Vancouver at the beginning of the season and after like 2 goals all I heard for the rest of the game was “skiiiinnnnneeeerrrr” I was pretty upset to the point where I started interacting with the people around me. Fans were offering me hugs, and making snarky remarks, then the mascot dumped and edm fans popcorn all over her on the jumbo. I was fuming by the end of the game, I just wanted to knock someone’s head. I don’t think I’ve heard edm fans chanting a goalies name maybe ever, I have always found that kinda gross and knowing what a great guy he is makes it shitty. Obviously he doesn’t care, but he was getting it from social media and hearing, like he said, people saying he sucks. So to bounce back and have an attitude like this throughout that time is remarkable. Makes it that much better that he was a rookie last season and carry’s himself like that. On a side note, Spector is one of the dumbest fucks I’ve ever listened to. He’s done nothing but bash this team with garbage all season and when they’re hot he throws some bullshit grade school garbage asking a question like this. Fuck him

  18. Rarecandy31

Stop posting Spec’s questions. He’s getting exactly what he wants whether the answer is good or bad.

  19. Wrath_Of_Aguirre

I’d rather be a shitty goalie IN THE NHL then asking people stupid questions for a living.

  20. What an answer. Skinner is obviously a really thoughtful guy… love to hear from players who have something interesting to say.

Also Spector wtf kind of interview question is that? It’s not even formed into a real question. That dude is an absolute clown.

  21. Aromatic-Living-7804

Judging by previous answers, I’m guessing this journalist has form for asking sh*tty questions like this. But man, you gotta love a guy who is humble enough to acknowledge that even a bad NHL goalie is in a more fortunate position, in terms of his job, than those in the stands booing.

This answer shows class, integrity and honour. I hope he has a solid career. This is the right attitude for sports people to have.

  22. What a fucking stupid question to ask and what a phenomenal answer to show just how great a dude Skinner is.

  23. Humble words. The dream came true and he’s happy about it even in the tough times.

  24. lunachicken

Well, shit, I didn’t know I liked Skinner so much.

  25. Federal-Procedure642

But, does anyone know where that quote or book where that came from? 100% class act.

  26. StevenCC82

He just gained a new fan here. That was a solid answer to a dipshit question.

  27. jopcylinder

His facial hair is godlike, he’s also classy as fuck

  28. FrozenToonies

Alexander Mogilny had an interview at his mansion one time and he straight up called hockey a child’s game.
He knew it and it baffled him because he became a millionaire from it.

He never cared about the press because when you’re in the high 6/low 7 figures a year and your mind set is that is still a game, you’re going to come home happy everyday.

  29. Apprehensive-Ease932

    Stu is nothing but class.

He’s worked hard to get here and it’s hard not to root for a guy that has that sort of attitude.

I just wish we had legitimate help for him. He’s not a Hellybuck/price/Gibson. And that’s absolutely fine. But he shouldn’t be asked to carry the load that those elite goalies have to carry.

Hopefully we can find a suitable backup who can play 20-30 games a year. But at this stage an Ames Reimer to back him would be good too instead of Pickard.
