The Boston Bruins ended their four-game losing streak with a 4-1 road win over the Buffalo Sabres. The victory improved their record to 20-7-6, the second-best in the Eastern Conference, placing them four points ahead of the Florida Panthers in the Atlantic Division. The Bruins’ penalty kill showed significant improvement, going 6-for-6 and giving up just five scoring chances in 7:31 of 4-on-5 penalty kill time. The power play also performed well, scoring three goals on four opportunities, with Charlie Coyle scoring twice. Jake DeBrusk, who had been struggling, provided primary assists on both of Charlie Coyle’s power-play goals and was praised for his performance by the Bruins’ head coach. Additionally, forward Morgan Geekie has been a valuable contributor, scoring eight points in 11 games in December, making him one of the team’s best players over the last two weeks1.
