I’m an Anaheim Ducks fan who is just done with this team. Our management executives can’t seem to understand that you can’t sell your fanbase on the idea that you’ve got prospects who will be “great in five years” and expect them to be patient and buy tickets/pay for TV subscription services just to watch them s#!t the bed game after game. Any competent GM should know that building a team of superstars who all have the exact same shelf life and will all retire within 2 seasons of each other is a HORRIBLE idea- all you’re doing is trading tomorrow’s revenue away for today’s. Dressing a team of rookies and AHL-level scrubs who can’t make any form of positive contribution while not even bothering to try trading for halfway competent veterans who have the skill and expertise to train the young kids properly is a recipe for years of failure and ineptitude. Pat Verbeek is honestly one of the worst general managers I have ever seen in the NHL. All the guy ever does is try to sell us on the idea that we have an “exciting young future” full of “talented young prospects”. Zegras and Terry have been around for THREE AND A HALF SEASONS and over half of the time the duo blows chunks. Jackson LaCombe is an Oblivion NPC. Ross Johnston is what you get when you put Arber Xhekaj through a lobotomy. Ryan Strome needs to sign a 5-year contract with McDonald’s. The extent of our veteran presence is useless Cam Fowler who moves slower than Bruce Boudreau on a treadmill, mental asylum escapee Radko Gudas, and Adam Henrique, who is truly one of the hockey players of all time. It’s getting to the point where I HAVE to watch other teams if I want to enjoy watching hockey. Say what you want about the Sharks but at least they’re entertaining to watch. They’re not a team of statues that move like FIFA characters all over the ice before the ooga booga caveman brain kicks in and they have to take a dumb penalty because they have no other way to exhibit any form of skill. Do you guys realize how unintentionally impressive it is to build a hockey team that is somehow sleep-inducing and anger-provoking at the same time? Somehow, some way, good ol’ Patty boy’s team makes it happen like some Frankenstein concoction. Oh, and how in the hell is it possible to have a two-man advantage and spend the entire thing chasing the puck out of your own blue line? How do you have six power play minutes a night and spend 90% of it figure skating with the puck in the neutral zone? What incentive do us Ducks fans have to tune in? This is the most painfully mid hockey team I’ve ever seen. It’s a joke.
Red Wings won, so that means they dropped in rankings again.

i think with that Perfetti goal it was sitting right on the line. Nino and the Arizona defender were battling to put it in/out and the D man pushed it across. No possession so Perfetti gets the credit.

Yeah, in the Jets game they said Perfetti didn't touch the puck after it bounced off an Arizona player's skate before being knocked in by the heel of Nino's stick. Apparently, if the puck bounces off a Yote skate before Nino puts it in, anything that happened in the sequence before the skate is interrupted and Nino gets it all to himself, while… somehow… Arizona doesn't clearly have possession to get a whistle? I dunno.
Dostal played a great game, thought the Ducks would at least push it to overtime.

@3:40 Good point, the broadcast initially had the goal by nino and he was awarded it, then that was later turned over to perfetti unassisted I guess upon review. AZ player guenther actually own goaled it.

I had to look at Rasmussen's goal like 6 times before I was okay with it. Sneaky sneaky.
Ducks have scored more than two goals ONCE in the last 8 games. This is brutal to watch guys wristing 30’ shots into the goalie glove and thinking that was a good play.
Detroit needs to fix their even strength play. Lyon's the only reason they even had a chance to win all three California games. Their special teams have been spectacular lately but it seems like they're shorthanded at 5 on 5 with the amount of time stuck in their own zone. Also, they need to learn how to hold on to leads in the 3rd period for more than a few minutes. Eventually, their luck will run out if they don't fix these issues.
My team, the Blue Jackets are the next opponent for the Jets. The Jackets usually give their opponent all they can handle, so forget their records – I am looking forward to a good game.

Another tough Ducks loss. Maybe some positive takeaways from it but tough loss still. While the Jets, it's beginning to seem like they just won't lose haha. Good for them though.

Ducks opening was amazing, hof players like selanne and Neidermayer got honored and they walked the stanley cup out, definitely a game I won’t forget

So great to see the Jets playing strong against teams below them in the standings; in previous seasons trap games were their achilles heel
Rule 15.1 (pg. 27) "When the team to be penalized gains control of the puck, the Referee will blow his whistle to stop play." You are right that they did have possession, but obviously not control. So, actually you can score off of a deflection off of the offending team.

Granted it's Anaheim but I believe this is the first time Detroit has won a game this season when they only scored 3 goals. Alex Lyon is the 1A goalie on this team going forward and if he got any defensive help he'd probably be even better than his numbers indicate.
Perfetti got his own rebound off the goalie and tapped it home. That’s why no assists!
