Angry Meatballs in the article. Could be a good change of pace, I like it.

    Meatball’s quote

“When we’re not good we’re not going to retrieve a puck with consistency, maybe a couple of guys are. Girgensons is a big leader in that regard and when you see him out here he does it every single time, it’s his habit, we don’t have enough guys that that’s their habit, so to me that’s it, if you’re asking psychologically, yes there’s a psychological component, but we’re not getting to that aggressive play and you can tell it doesn’t make me happy.”

Clearly he’s not going to say names but it’s your and the GM’s job to identify these guys and either have them pay consequences or be replaced. I haven’t seen any of that. I think OP’s minute decrease is more of an obvious solution to over saddling a 20 year old more than anything.

IMO- If Donny could break though to Skinner and get him to atleast look like he’s trying defensively, it’d send a great example to the team. I don’t care if he scores 0 goals. He’s getting paid regardless and we have other players that can do that.

Did our coach finally say one of the things that we’ve been dying to hear all season??
Honestly, I feel like part of the problem was that it seemed like our management was giving the players almost a pass on this year and chalking it up to development rather than holding players truly accountable. This is a great start.

IMO Donny has to use one of his greatest tools to get through to the boys and that’s ice time. Reducing minutes is one thing, however I feel that he needs to be more willing to put a guy like Power up in the press box for a game, remember the kids 20 years old right?! Not the end of the world to get scratched and shouldn’t affect their confidence giving them an opportunity to reset.

Anyways, see y’all tm. Warpath starts here.
