A large portion of our bi-polar fanbase owes Paul a huge apology. The team was in the depths of hell when he was added and the casuals went to town roasting him. Now they seemingly have amnesia about it and are happy to collect the wins his defensive philosophy have been a part of.

I like that instead of just dumping the puck the D is actually trying to make a play to forwards. Do they still dump the puck? Sometimes not as often but sometimes. Thanks for the vid. Take care all.

I am comfortable with the d we have, good group, Broberg was really good when he had to be last year. I think his problem was he was so used to playing 20 minutes that he can't mentally handle 7 minutes.
I wanna see vinny d carry the puck selfishly over the blue line and drive with speed to the net like mcdavid does. He has such a long reach that he can shoot the puck without having to take a step around the defenders he just has to lean over slightly and has a clean shot from the outside circle. He has had his chances to drive to the net but ends up dumping it in 90% and 10% passing. Vinny would be a scary power forward.
Bouchard is still a concern for me, yes his offence is a huge plus but his fumbling around with the puck and defence still needs a lot of work. Again in the first minute of the Ottawa game Bouchard gave the puck away for a breakaway, plays like that will be costly in playoffs.
Hay🤠 Hay@Tyson…well I Think Paul Coffey has Improved our defense. But…when a player like Nurse is getting 9 million a season he should be able to handle the pressure. Is he a #1 D man? Paul Coffey has done very well for what he's had to work with. Remember these guys are not Paul Coffey. We see Bouchard plays now with way more Confidence. Shoot more Bouchard. Phenurse is being paid WAY too much. He is always on the wrong side of the puck. Being paid for a first line D yet he is 2nd at best. I would 100% support trading him while others think he is actually worth something.
It’s no secret I have publicly called Nurse out for being our worst defensive player and isn’t worth 1 million if I were to watch his game in the last year. He needed to be up front with McDavid for some reason and made us pay for it big time. However I’ll also be the first to say that I’m not seeing those glaring mistakes as much with Coffey running the D line. For me, not noticing your skill set and screaming at the TV is much better than his desire for accolades pretty much ruining the Oilers chances to succeed, to put it frankly.
Coff is a gem.
If oilers had this coaching in October we would easily be #1 in league
