So many penalties and people going down the tunnel. But a good game. Hopefully tomorrow goes well.
That was not hockey. That was not wrestling. That was war. Everyone woke up and chose violence; Bedard out, Nico out for a small amount of time, Foligno out, Jack out. Sheeeeeshhhhh. Ngl, with how chaotic everything was, wish players were mic’d up, would love to hear the shit they said during the scrums.

More than a couple of players brought their lunchpales to work. Smitty has been stepping it up with the salt and peppa. You got to love it. Happy to see them turn it on in the 3rd. Jack's injury didn't look like much of anything watching the replay. Hopefully, it's nothing that some Robotussin or a bandaid can't fix.
Hope jack is okay, and good physical game by some of the guys. Honestly I’m tired of hearing bedards name I’m glad he was out. Cleaner wins needed but over all great win!
Hot take: Why don't they use Nico Daws and Akira Schmid as Goalie and put Vanecek in the Ahl.
as an entertainment the game gets solid 8 or even 9 out of 10 but except entertaintment the game by the Devils was crap. Barely beat the second worst team that had no Bedard.

That was one of the best games I have ever watched, it was so insane. I loved the tension that was on the ice and how the Devils had to keep pushing for that lead. The Mikey, Holtzy, and Laser line was amazing I hope Lindy sticks with it for awhile. I hope Jack is okay though…
Now that Schmid is losing games in Utica instead of New Jersey, the goaltending situation is a little more stable. The resulting climb in the standings (since correctly dumping Schmid, NJ has gained two spots) is not surprising. Despite the injuries and the rough patch of schedule coming up, you can envision the Devils going on a little bit of a run. Your vitriol towards Vitek notwithstanding, his 14th win was fun to watch. Still need more from the goaltending position, but they're clearly better off now than they were 10 days ago.
Said before and ill continue to say it, this team needs Smith, dude is a warrior. He gets alot of hate. I hope we extend him cuz i need to get a smith jersey

😂 I was just ribbing you, I didn't REALLY expect you to stay away from Newark for that long. Sorry your Bedard show only lasted for 3 minutes TOI, but glad NJ found a way to step up for each other physically and win it. Hell of a game, it was great to pretend like it was 2004 again for a night. Hope 86 is okay to play Saturday night against Quinn. I'm concerned he's going to be week-to-week again, hope that's just my own anxiety. LGD
Heck of a scrap between Smith and Foligno, didn't know Smith put him out. They gotta keep this stuff up!
Smith definitely earned my respect for A) not absolutely blowing up Bedard worse then he did because the opportunity was there and B) for playing a solid physical game and stepping up not once but twice to answer the bell and understanding he had to let the Blackhawks take their pound of flesh and he didn't want any other Devil player to have to pay that price. Also huge props to the refs and linesman for letting them go at it for as long as they did. They definitely told the boys get it out, take your justice and that's it. No more mercy after this and you will hurt your team. They knew that game could get very dirty if it wasn't handled old school style. Good job refs! Lastly, still no word on Jack. Game time decision, let's hope he isn't injured again…. sigh
