  1. The Campbell contract is one issue but as great as the guy is … he is a poison and distraction. Do what you need to in order to purge and move on. It was a mistake… move on.

  2. Trade lavoie, bourgault & Holloway? We keep lavoie & get rid of brown even tho we'll have to pay his bonus. Holloway is great. If we lose drai or mcd we'll need a centre. Bourgault could take derek ryans spot eventually & work his way up. Mcdavid said he wants to stay in Edmonton the other night after he hit 900 points. Drai isn't having the best year so that's bringing his price down a bit. I'm ok with 2 1sts & Campbell if it means we can re-sign bouch & drai. Mcdavids a lock. Not worried about him leaving. Need an upgrade from ceci too.

  3. With the Cap going up in 2025 maybe that will open up more buyout option's?….but who knows?
Maybe keeping around a veteran goalie ain't so bad. Maybe we are looking at this all wrong?
Hear me out…Skinner spends a year with Soupy, raves about what a great guy and partner he is, launches his own career and is now a starter….
Campbell goes down to Bakerfield, and now Olivier Rodrigue is ready to make the NHL jump with a .942 SAV%……Maybe Jack Campbell is "the Goalie Whisperer?"
…….If a Red Hot Stu Skinner and a emerging Olivier Rodrigue, (not to mention Pickard) is a part of the $5 Million price tag, maybe it was money well spent after all?
……Maybe Holland knew what he was doing all along?

  4. I would be surprised if they can get rid of Soup. I at this point would keep him with the Condors, and release him at the beginning the end of 24/25 season if you can’t find a reasonable trade. At least Olivier Rodrigue could use some of his experience maybe as his backup this season. but obviously Rodrigue is our future.

  5. Too bad they signed Campbell for so long, for so much. I think that forces them to trade Draisaitl next year and not resign him. If they buy out Campbell, I still think they wont be able to resign Draisaitl unless he takes a really, really team-friendly deal to stay with his buddy McJesus. It's unfortunate, but this is the way I see it playing out if the Oilers want to add other good players over time and stay competitive. Two first round picks is too much to give away for someone to take Campbell's contract. I'd rather buy him out, but like I said, that most likely means you won't be able to re-sign Draisaitl. Either have to trade Drai, or possibly Nurse's 9 mill. Would it be smart to have two players making like 12 million anyway? Sure Drai is a great sniper, but you could probably sign three great two way players for 4 million a piece, a full line. If your a good manager, you're thinking about the team's short and long term success.

  6. Buy out seems like the only option doesnt cost you picks or prospects! There will be some dead money and they could replace Ceci & Fogel with cheaper contracts!

  7. Welcome to the wonderful world of Ken Holland and his bad contracts. Hey Ken: 'Good riddance to you!' With love, Detroit.
