Leafs are still paying half their money just to 4 players, they are paying everyone else 4th liner basically. They are playing the hope game that the other team lines 2-4 won’t score on them. And their own 1st line don’t have a bad night. So second round is probably the best they’ll get for the next 8 years.

Am I missing something here? The entire continent of Europe is in a recession as is the USA and every indication is that the global economy is collapsing. Yet somehow the salary cap in the NHL is going to go up drastically over the next few years despite all of this and the facts that arenas around the league are half empty (do the eye test when you watch a game) despite the numbers they report AND Disney/ESPN hemorrhaging billions! How is it that absolutely nobody wants to have a real conversation about any of this?

LA has never been more than 1 game above .500 at home all season, whether it was 3-3-3 or 7-7-5, so I'm not sure what results from a few weeks ago you're referring to (maybe beating Calgary and San Jose for one of their 2 game win streaks?). They have 2 2-game win streaks at home, so this isn't something recent.
