David Pastrnak is BAD at Shootouts

Thanks for watching!

In last nights game versus the Colorado Avalanche, David Pastrnak attempted a lackluster shootout shot that left some fans mad at him. I went back and watched his last 10 shootout attempts to see if I was buying in on him being not so great at these shootouts.

  1. He is FILTHY at shootouts which is why he is ok with trying these lower-percentage shots. His go-to of Forehand-Backhand-Forehand and over the goalies glove is one of the silkiest moves that doesn't get enough attention. Or he just plain snipes.

This was bad, no two ways about it. But he is playing the headgames with goalies (like you referenced) with attempts like these, the point of which is to make every goalie wonder what he is going to do when he comes in clean. I don't really see the point of jumping all over him when attempts like this have gone in for him in other spots of the net 🤷‍♂
