Josh Anderson charging on Erik Černák – Tough Call Review
Josh Anderson technically made a clean check, but he so blatantly ignored the puck and covered enough ground that it had a predatory element to it. I don’t mind this being called a minor penalty. Nothing more though.
To me this is a clean hit. Even if the puck is temporarily separated from his blade, Cernak is still the closest player to the puck and the likeliest to be the first to regain possession of the puck. He already has momentum in the same direction as the puck, unlike Anderson. I think he's eligible to be checked there. If a player were to intentionally push the puck forward while skating after it, he would typically still be considered in possession of it even if not maintaining unbroken contact.
Have to disagree. Anderson saw that Cernak was trying to play the puck but he didn't get hold of it. By the time that happened Anderson was already coming in fast and couple meters away. If you watch that in real time there is no time to change anymore. Or if he tried I think they would still have collided and may bump their knees and it could have been worse.

Solid hit. The game is not just about the puck

Again, player not protecting themselves and playing like there is no contact in hockey
