H yeah I’m super excited for that I mean it’s something I’ve never been able to do in my career never had an outdoor game uh since I was like a 12y old playing outside so I’m EXC I’m really excited for this um and I mean this
Should be a lot of fun is this a moment where you can maybe I don’t know step back and just kind of appreciate that moment that kind of the game goes back to its roots Outdoors 100% I mean uh I think back to my days when I was playing
World Juniors uh my goalie coach there Fred brassle just said go back to go back to playing your outdoor Gaz go back to have a fun out there so it’s kind of like it’s kind full circle now I’m actually getting to do that and go back to really just playing and having fun
And remembering why you started playing the game do you have any specific memories of being a kid on on a pond Outdoors anywhere uh yes I remember my dad dominating outside all the kids he was the best player by far out best player by far out there he would stick
Count through everybody and everyone was like how it’s pretty good like it’s pretty good then playing with my two my older brothers they were always the best players out there too I mean they both play in the NHL so they’re both good um my dad was always really good so it was
A lot of fun we always had like a CER match up and our team was always the best team yeah obviously new addition to the room is it is it difficult to find a recort with with the other guys and then you’re competing for starts no we’re all
Always all here get a long well how do you how do you guys push each other in training what that I don’t think we push each other I think we all got to be self motivated I I don’t think this you w’t make it to Pro Hockey by being pushed by someone
Else you make it pro hockey by being self motivated by pushing yourself so it sounds like it’s very much more about sort of being cerebral having your own game plan stick to it and just your own I would say yeah it’s less about being like it’s less about
Him pushing me or them pushing me it’s all about doing it kind of yourself I think you got to find your own way of doing things I mean ticker myself cooly we’re all very different goalies we all play very different styles I don’t think we’re really balancing many ideas off us
We may talk about things but we’re all self motivated we’re not pushing each other we’re getting better because we want to get better personally and we have a good goalie coach here that guides us through that diff each individually a different way is it is it
Difficult to to get back in your Rhythm when you’re you have the night off or is it just what what do that I mean I’ve only been here for a week I really haven’t had that scenario oh yeah I mean it’s never like I mean no
It’s not hard like that I don’t think you practice you more keep your rhythm in practice I mean if you go a month out playing it’s hard to keep a rhythm but if you have your practice and stuff of that it’s fine you missed one start here
There it’s not the end of the world um my final question is uh is there anything you’ve noticed uh working with detin is there is uh what have you what have you noticed about about yeah I I don’t I don’t know I mean they’re both very Go I mean ticker’s
Been around for a long time he’s very experienced cool he’s been a very good goalie for a couple years now so it’s it’s both it’s great to be with them great to be able to share knowledge with them I mean once again I think we all play three different styles and we all
Kind of do our own thing our own way but it’s still great to have them there really good guys and it’s been fun to be with them
