Here’s what we can expect from the Oilers at the trade deadline

The trade deadline for the 2023-24 NHL season is exactly two months away and we’re starting to get a picture of which teams are going to be buying and selling.

From the perspective of the Oilers, a 17-6-0 stretch since making a coaching change back in November has calmed any suggestion that making a panic move is necessary, but it’s Stanley Cup or Bust in Edmonton, so the team is expected to buy ahead of the deadline.

What upgrades might the team look to make? Watch the video and head to Oilersnation.com for more. https://oilersnation.com/

  1. A 3c is the most important move so then Holloway could play wing with Kane for an effective third line. This teams depth offensively needs work.

Id move on from Kulak out of the 3 you mentioned because his role is the most likely to be filled by Broberg.

A serviceable backup would also be a good move to make. Dont have a ton of faith in Pickard despite him playing decent.

  2. Don’t worry boys Campbell isn’t coming back and it’s going to take some prospects to get rid of him, it has to be done or we have an albatross around our neck for the next three years.moryears

  3. Trading from a position of weakness is the very definition of insanity…….keep your picks and use farmhands…….you signed them for a reason, no?

  4. Oilers need to make something work with San Jose. They are rebuilding and would be most open to taking the bulk of Campbell's salary for some picks. If you get a Skinner/Blackwood tandem that is a huge upgrade. Blackwood has somehow managed to maintain a near-.900 save percentage on one of the worst teams we've ever witnessed and on a team that leads the league in grade-A shots against. Adding a top-6 forward like Tomas Hertl is also a possibility.
