Worried about Lyon holding up to a starting workload cos he's never done that before, but I do think he's gonna get the chance to do it. Lalonde gave him more starts than Husso after Reimer imploded in Sweden and he really only had one bad game in that stretch before he got injured, so I do think Lalonde has considered Lyon the number 1 option since Nov 17th.
I think they need to ride the hot hand. We haven't had a hot goalie all year, so ride it while you can.

Husso has not been bad, just has lapses, so he should start when ready. But wings have not had a solid backup and Lyon is doing great as that. Give him a break when Husso comes back. Goalies can use a break, Husso will be back to form when he comes back. Let him come back and start when he is ready and know that you have a more than capable backup when needed. When have wings had that? 🏒
Alex put Florida on his back and willed them into the playoffs last year. Perhaps he can do similar with us this year. His anticipation, positioning, puck tracking and lateral movement have been strong and he's aggressive challenging shooters and can swallow those pucks. Goalies peak later in their careers and Alex seems to be entering his prime. Use him.
Yes. Husso has not been good change my mind. The amount of soft goals he lets in are absurd. Lyon should start until his play says otherwise.
Bring Edvinsson back up, and honestly, see what he can do for a game on the top pair.

until/unless Lalonde fixes the top 6, everything is pretty futile no matter how many wins Lyon scratches out for them. you just aren't winning anything meaningful w none of your best scorers scoring 5v5 at all. that Lalonde seems in no hurry to fix it (bc "the underlying numbers are good" "the Compher line is playing some good defense" "we've won 4 of 5!") is not encouraging as far as his longterm prospects as an NHL head coach. him breaking it in the first place 5 games ago was already not encouraging as far as his longterm prospects as an NHL head coach. opposing coaches playing them the last 5 must be baffled by his lineups and wondering why he'd do that to his own team.
Lyon should have started over Husso a long time ago. I don’t get why people are still going to bat for Husso, he’s bad. He has NO glove side. I don’t want to hear it anymore about Husso. Don’t think we needed to talk for 20 minutes about Lyon playing better than Husso. You guys kind of talked in circles this episode lol.

Lyon is EARNING it right now. His confidence is up and riding that wave. Wouldn't pulling him as soon as Husso is back just put a sour taste in his mouth and undo all that? Ive been watching all season and feel way more confident in a W when the game starts and I see Lyon starting in net. If I feel this way watching, I bet the players on the ice feel the same way to an extent

If you look at his career, Philly, Carolina, then Florida, he was never really given much of a chance to prove himself until last year in which he successfully got the Panthers so far in the playoffs! When he gets consistent opportunity, he proves that he is a top tier NHL goalie! I can’t wait to see what a positive impact he has on the Wings!! #RoarFor34 🦁❤️🪽
