I would love to have Corey Perry on the Leafs. He is the kind of player that absolutely makes a difference. He's a Matthew Tkachuk type player that is not afraid of getting into it with anybody, and I love it.
Don't get me wrong… I've hated Corey Perry forever, simply because he was not a Maple Leaf. If he becomes a maple leaf, he will immediately become my favorite person on the planet.
He may have done some stupid things recently due to alcohol, but so what? Just because he's a hockey player, doesn't mean he's different from the rest of us. And I would hazard a guess that the rest of us have some pretty dark, nasty crap in our closets as well…
Remember the old saying, "people who live in glass houses should not throw stones."
Like him or not, Corey Perry has been a force in the NHL for almost two decades, so I think we can maybe offer him an olive branch and hope like hell he makes it back into the league. We need him.
Had Corey Perry still been on the Blackhawks when Conor Bedard went down, Brendan Smith would have had to answer for his hit that took out one of the most exciting players in the league.
The NHL needs players like Corey Perry, and it seems to me that only Canadians think otherwise. I wonder why? Can you let me know?

I wish a player like Perry would be a good fit and the Leafs would go after players of his ilk. He is exactly what the Leafs NEED and have been missing for years. Which is also exactly why he is NOT a good fit. This team is built around players and a culture that are nothing like Corey Perry, and he would be shunned. He would not be allowed to play how he needs play to be successful.
Would love to see Perry, He is a veteran player that has a hell of a lot of grit. He doesn't give up on the plays and when its playoffs he shows up. And honestly I just don't wanna have to play against him lol, he is a thorn in the leafs side every year haha

Another former London Knight would be a great fit, specially now that Dubas isn’t around anymore to screw up a deal. Perry wanted to join the leafs but ended up with the Habs because Dubas didn’t do the deal.
