Briere talks on The Jeff Marek Show about Cutter Gauthier

He mentions they actually prepared a contract for him and he chose to go back to college.

That is different than how I thought the conversation went.

The more that comes out the more obvious it is that he is a spoiled brat that has put himself on the pedestal and thinks he’s above it all. I am thrilled that this guy is not a Flyer anymore. The moment this guy would face some adversity in Philly he would probably try to cry himself out of here. Nothing that has come out so far makes any sense at all, just proves that we are better off having shipped his ass out to Anaheim.

LOL omg, everyone on /r/hockey ragging on the Flyers saying he walked because the Flyers made him go back to school.

Anyone saying Flyers fans anger is misguided or overkill is a hypocrite. If a player they drafted top 5 decided not to sign with their favorite team, anyone would take offense to that. And to ADD on top of that all this shit about him ghosting them, really shitty look on Gauthier’s part. Can’t wait for Anaheim’s game in Philly next year.

Freezing out the organization is the thing that’s really unforgivable, and I don’t get why that’s not being hammered home more Nationally/Internationally.

While I’m glad to have Drysdale and am excited to watch him grow as a player, it’s a shame that Gauthier didn’t play junior hockey in Canada. Something about College Hockey players that just screams immaturity and entitlement. I don’t think this happens if he’s in the OHL or something, he would have been guided by better people.

Let me be clear before I say what I’m about to say: fuck Cutter Gauthier. He is 100% at fault here.

That said, Briere raised my eyebrows when he talked about “the old regime”. Was Danny not in the middle of that regime as a consultant, then as AGM?

I also don’t get why the agent wanted a call just to say “sorry, going back to college.” Why even bother?
