  1. Flyers failed to mention that Gauthier wanted to sign with them at the end of last season. And then go attack the kid. Weird

  2. It wasn’t talked about on the NBC intermission. It was talked about on a flyers podcast. Also, Kevin Hayes didn’t debunk the rumor he refuted it. There’s a difference.

  3. Whole thing doesnt make sense. Gauthier almost definitely has an agent. Agents arent in the habit of burning bridges with entire teams (unless its Alan Walsh) and ghosting them for months at a time would do exactly that, and if the agent was in communication with them then thats not ghosting if he didnt want to meet with them. hes not obligated to meet with them just like they werent obligated to sign with them when they said they couldnt sign him right then. Player felt disrespected by team, and team felt disrespected by player. One is a 20 yr old and the other is an organization of 50+ year old men, and the 50 year old men are the ones crying about it in public. No wonder he didnt want to play for them.

  4. Not really sure how this breakdown makes the flyers org look bad. Are you saying they shouldnt have drafted him because he is a pens fan?

  5. Judging by what Danny Briere said during his presser is that they tried to get in contact with the Gauthier group but was unsuccessful, even going all the way to Sweden to try to get a hold of him but were denied for whatever reason. Even if there were some miscommunication from both sides the Flyers were trying their best to mend the fences but it was the Gauthier camp that was ghosting them. If i was in the Flyers camp & this kid didn't want to communicate at all than might as well cut their losses & ship the player somewhere else for assets that can help the team.

  6. Hopefully this doesn't start a trend of young players asking for a trade. Such a childish conduct by Gauthier regardless of the reason. Being so entitled when you haven't even played 1 game in the NHL is a big red flag!

  7. Most shocking part of this story is finding out Philadelphia sports fans were involved in death threats to an athlete. /s

  8. They said it during the 1st intermission of yesterday’s game. He wanted to be brought up last year and they weren’t able to due to the cap situation plus Danny B wanted him to have at least 1 more year in college hockey and Cutter took it the wrong way and got sour and it started from there. You can’t put any of this on the Flyers Organization. Of course there is going to be rumors going around like crazy can’t just go and run on everyone you hear.

  9. Not the flyers fault Cutter coming out saying he won’t sign with Philly, so now they got Drysdale 🤷‍♂️ it’s not terrible

  10. it's hilarious when philly fans say good luck when you play in philly, like what are you gonna go ? boo him, big deal, you boo crosby every time, who cares lol

  11. I wish Stevie Y got into talks for Cutter. He is exactly what the Red Wings are missing. Missed opportunity.

  12. Rather trade a kid that doesn't wanna play there then have him stay and not play like how he knows he can then trade him get nothing back

  13. Worried about salary cap during a rebuild is understandable, wanting to have him develop more to me is motivation to get better. He may think he is the amazing and he definitely show potential but look at some of the young talent on the ice now; they all need work. On cutter side, not responding during WJ is understandable. He is in the middle of a world tourney so I think that should say enough. Lastly of the kid doesn’t wanna play for a team that is rebuilding with a black and white coach and new leadership, it’s understandable to make a move like they did. I feel as if it was handled properly. Ice time will tell. But both teams got assets. Both parties had their own reasons. What’s done is done.

  14. …and just like that, Cutter Gauthier is the most hated player in Flyers history. And likely will be forever. We do not forget. Nevermind his "rights" under the cba, etc. This is about who he is as a man. WHO the f**k are you to disrespect the entire organization because you didn't get what you wanted at a meeting? Every team has business needs to consider and they also have their own ideas on development. Refusing to even speak to John Leclair and Patrick Sharp? Universally respected players and men? That's stunning arrogance. Beyond hubris.

It's ALL about him and his ego. If you had a problem with their approach in that moment, speak up like a man. Speak your mind. Don't run and pout like a child. Even if this wasn't my team, I'd still have zero respect for him. I was also a David Jiricek over Gauthier guy, but was happy to have him until Monday. Now, it's all about Drysdale. He's with a much better org now and will bloom.

  15. As far as the Tortorella angle goes, that's beyond stupid on everyone's part. How long will Torts be the coach? How long is ANY coach with one team? The undeniable fact is Torts is only an issue because leftists in media have hated him for decades. They despise the man because they sense he is not like they. They know he doesn't and will never give a crap about what they think. It's very political. It's cultural. He's hated because he's viewed as being guilty of "wrongthink".

  16. Good riddance cutter we have michkov and now a future number 1 odman. Have fun not getting a bag, getting buried in the line up by mctavish and carlsson, and have fun on that 3rd California team
