[Basu] Kloten GM Larry Mitchell says the Canadiens have not reached out to him about the possibility of Reinbacher leaving early, and when I asked Reinbacher if he was thinking about coming over after his season he said he hasn’t thought about it because he is focused on his season in Kloten, FWIW.

  1. Huh wow so apparently a low level trade in the NL doesn’t mean a 19 y/o is uprooting his life and moving across the Atlantic.

  2. Wouldn’t be a good lesson for the kid. There is still something to play for in a bad season in Europe, which is avoiding relegation. Reiny will come over in 2 months

  3. Sounds like the kid is going to fight management on staying one more year in Europe.

As I recall he had some school he wanted to finish this year? So possibly it wouldn’t be best for him personally to come over in March, idk.

I don’t really care about this season, it is what it is. But it does seem like he’s stagnating over there on an awful team, when he could be learning the North American game under direct supervision of our development coaches. So it’s imperative that he come over to Laval next season at least.

  5. He is being a good pro and focus on his current team. He also said he was bummed about being cut but got over it.

There’s no reason not to finish the season there. He’s getting lots of tough defensive minutes in kloten
