What’re you expecting? The Officials to make the right call? Hasn’t happened yet, probably won’t happen at this rate.

Dude caught it, called the move, then yeeted the puck down ice.
Incredible that 4 officials didn’t spot a single thing wrong.

Roman Josi has done it twice now in two different games against Dallas as well.

You need to know the current score in the game and what teams are playing to determine if something is a penalty or not these days.

With how bad they’ve been this season. The playoffs are going to be a shitshow.
Maybe they won’t even have whistles.

If they can miss this exact call when Josi held the puck in the crease, brought the puck towards his body and then threw it away they can miss it anytime, anywhere.

The only thing for sure is this was a screenshot with a potato

Flyers ended up winning anyway, so I’m not terribly upset about it, but like, come on. Thats incredibly obvious

I’m not sure what happened in this play but for a little extra context you don’t call the closing the hand as soon as someone does it. The player needs to make a move in some way other than just putting it down on the ice. Like the oiler example from last night. It’s not called a close the hand penalty because he’s not doing anything other than putting it on the ice. It’s when you make direction changes like if you dodge a player while still holding the puck. If it was called every time a player grabbed it there would be 5 calls a game.

Without seeing the play it’s hard to tell if this should be a penalty, you said he threw the puck which is a penalty but you’re allowed to grab it out of the air and drop it
A closed hand by itself is not a penalty, it depends on the situation or what he does once he closes his hand on it

There was a sure one of these In the wings game last night that ended up in the net and called off for a hand pass, but they didn’t call a closed hand penalty even though the guy definitely clos3d his hand and held the puck for a decent few seconds.

Tough to tell, I can’t verify as the puck is covered with his hand. It could be anywhere

Flyers player definitely gets a stick on it. He didn’t throw the puck
