The Pittsburgh Penguins lost a thriller to the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night but they were able to get a point, which is still a big win. To start Friday’s show, Hunter and Pat recap that game and how the Penguins were able to battle back despite being outplayed in the first period. They analyze the play of Tristan Jarry and especially Sidney Crosby as the latter once again put the team on his back. They marvel at how he continues to do this and again petition for him to get the Hart Trophy this year. They also praise Jansen Harkins for a sound performance before diving into Reilly Smith’s injury. The two look at what Kyle Dubas should do to address his absence even though he hasn’t been that good in the last several weeks. Should a player be called up? Should Dubas make a trade? They look at the options before discussing the latest Jake Guentzel rumors and why it makes no sense to deal him unless they’re out of the race. Finally, they preview Saturday’s massive tilt down in Raleigh against the Hurricanes.

I like your analysis but keep in mind the Canucks played 3 games in 4 nights on the road. They won all three against new york teams. I think they ran out of gas in the middle of the second period and tried defending after that. Canucks still need to improve on playing tired with the lead but make no mistake, penguins were outclassed by a better team who didn't play a full game but still got 2 pts. Sid was amazing but he was the only one bringing it. Two lucky penguin goals off bodies..

I'm a Canucks fan so I'm a little bias. But the Canucks play every style you can imagine to win games. Last night they literally just sucked for 40 minutes. It's a long road trip. I feel we lost last night but found a way to win because we found OT.

With this Reilly Smith news I agree that they gotta make a trade or something. Even though he wasn't producing there isn't really any in house replacements for the role he played. Honestly I would've been perfectly happy with never seeing Zohorna again but now we're probably gonna have to for the time being.

Good heart by the Penguins. The Canucks are 25-0 when leading after 2 periods and that's the first time a team has forced it to OT on us all year in that situation. I was stressed.
I dont think guentzel is getting traded either. Just the pittsburgh media stirring the pot as usual. They blow stuff out of proportion all the time. As far as poj goes. He's too slender at gets taken advantage of at net front. That was my worry from start of season. Other then graves who doesn't play physical and john ludvig and letang too an extent not enough size on blue line to move opposing players out of there.
