Novak vs Forsberg pace

“Tommy Novak’s second-period tally earned the forward his 70th career NHL point. Per NHL PR, Novak required the third-fewest games (109) to reach the 70-point mark for Nashville, behind Filip Forsberg (102 GP) and Marek Zidlicky (107 GP).”

Also…. Novak is a .65 ppg player on an 800k contract

Not saying he is Forsberg, but damn if this guy isn’t producing. It’s easy to have short term memory with his low numbers post injury.

And this is with a bit of a lull period that we all know will snap and he’ll het his shot back. Soo glad to see him laser one last night!

    Let’s go, Novy boy!

Been high on Novak since he was originally called up. People lament the fact we haven’t produced many top 6 centers and proceed to overlook Novak.

Its a bit frustrating how he has been somewhat underutilized.

I think he deserves more ice time and more capable linemates- I’d like to see him on a line with Gurianov or Sissons and Tomasino .

Hoping he reups- I think if he was playing on the first line he would have similar numbers to ROR

Worth pointing out that Fors was 20/21 when he did it. Novak is 26.

Novak spent 4 years at University of Minnesota before going pro.

One thing that’s absolutely bananas about Novak is how is production has stepped up at every level he’s been at it. His highest scoring season at UM was 6 goals in 37 games, then he hit 11 in 60 in Milwaukee, finally he hit 17 in 51 for the Preds. Usually it’s the exact opposite.

He’s my absolute favorite player to watch when he’s heated up. He can really provide some much-needed puck movement in the offensive zone. He looked like himself last night for the first time since his injury. And I don’t just mean cause he scored. His head was up and he was confidently carrying the puck.
