I am a bit disappointed in this show today. Do you forget all the new guys we have?? Seems like you guys have fell in to the Detroit media funk. This team is not a disappointment because what were the true expectations. We are still in the running for a playoff spot despite injuries and all the new guys on the team. Did you guys forget how hard it was for us to score the past few seasons?? We are tops in the league. How bout the penalty kill? Yes the defense needs to improve but wow I think we have done pretty well considering. And also Lalonde is in his second year. I think he has more time than you want to give him to be great as well. Lets keep context alive people.
Even though the defense has struggled this year the future is looking better. Edvinsson looks like he is ready to come up and be a difference maker and one guy not talked about that is having an excellent year as a shut down defensemen is Albert Johansson, I think he will surprise people. Cossa is also figuring things out in the AHL, even though he lost last night he stopped 32 of 33 shots, he also only gave up only one goal in a win against Wallstedt in his last outing.
On Lalonde:
1. He's is in his first NHL head coaching gig.
2. He's been with the team for less than two years.
3. He's experienced high roster turnover between last year and this year.
He's not the problem, guys. His "honeymoon period" might be over, but you guys have to remember these three key factors when criticizing him.
