  1. Great vid as always. Well done looking at the stats. Take care and hope the new place and job are going great.

  2. I found your analysis pretty interesting but I don’t think you can say the Oilers won the trade. We don’t know what Caleb Jones is yet, so the last 6 years of how Petry has helped the Habs has won them the trade up to this point. I think Caleb Jones could be good, but we don’t know for sure that he will be better than Petry. The Oilers will only win the trade once he scores 40+ points consistently like Petry has done. Also Petry barely ever plays with Weber, only sometimes on the power play. They’re both right shots so they wouldn’t play together at even strength.

  3. As of now, Yes I 100% think Montreal won that trade…so far. Oilers developed him, the usual Oiler way (Make a D man who is ready for 3rd pairing dutys to play 1st and 2nd pairing, then run him out of town when he can't be Bobby Orr, and then watch him become solid for some other team). Jones looks very promising, but he's just becoming ready now, years later. Who won in the long run, remains to be seen yet imo.

  4. All it would take for the Oilers to win this trade is for Jones to become almost as good as Petry. Since we also got Talbot's body of work, which included one of the greatest seasons by an Oilers goalie ever. Having said that, I believe Jones (23 years old) will eventually be better than Petry (33 years old) maybe even by this coming season. Petry is also a -51 as a Hab.
