    Completely agree with that.

Worth noting that Keefe actually called it Nylander’s line, which is why he put Nylander with Marner/Matthews.

Keefe quote? Could he be finally calling our players who aren’t 4th liners?

We need a coach like Tortorella. Someone that can bench anyone, even the stars, when they don’t play as they should be playing. Someone that can tell the truth to the media and the fans even when it’s not comfortable. Someone that shows the refs and the league that he’s not f*cking around here. Keefe is a f*cking joke. This is basically a repeat of the NYI game but even worse.

Keefe throwing everyone under the bus. Maybe he should start with himself.

  5. our top guys cannot perform when a team plays like a cup contender. period. they’re so timid.

Domi may not have been incredible this season but fuck was he going hard tonight. doesn’t have the skill the “big boys” do. but he has the heart they don’t.

Tavares was fucking awful tonight. Guy looked lost out there

If only Keefe could play net. And be a top 4 defenseman. And be a solid 4th liner. Then he’d be a great coach.

You don’t put your top players in the press box, you sit them in the 3rd. He did that tonight.

Dude has this team comfortably 3rd in the east with massive holes on the roster, after coming off an internal blowout in the offseason. The guy should be commended, but Leafs Reddit knows best!

Kampf was scratched so I guess we will see the same accountability for certain other players💀

JT has 1 goal and 3 assists at 5v5 in his last 14? games or something like that. He’s been awful. In general outside of Matthews, Nylander and maybe Domi, Knies and Jarnkrok this offense has been largely disappointing.

  10. Painful we have that albatross of a contract for an additional season

Dudes slam Marner Matthews Nylander contract but always let the terrible Tavares contract slide when he’s the worst of the 3

He doesn’t produce at 5v5, Powerplay merchant for $11M oof

And then Tavares bit in the last minute.
    Brutal game

I know he’s a great face off man but I’d like to see him of the wing more, he’s gotta be one of the slowest centre men in the league no disrespect Jonny T you’re a tremendous player but speed has never been you’re game champ

  13. I was at the game tonight. Even with the Buds being up 3-0 at intermission, having the goal scorers being Domi, Lily and Mo had me uneasy. The big guns did fuck all.

As soon as not one motherfucker caved Manson’s head in after taking Matthews down they lost the game, the playoffs and probably the next season as well. They’re FAR TOO OFTEN just soulless rovers that want to play cute and do goofy shit that looks cool.

No-move clauses killed the team’s ability to make a move (obviously) but also a statement. You can’t trade a guy to scare the shit out of everyone if they’re all protected. Can’t even send ‘em to the minors to shake their heads a little. If they don’t cut Tavares after his deal and give themselves $11mil in flexibility it’s game over.

  15. In b4, Nylander got his contract and stopped his point streak while playing like shit

  16. The team is poorly constructed and it becomes overwhelmingly obvious against the better teams when they bring their A game out. The Avs were asleep for a period and then ran the Leafs over.

Tavares should be on the wing. Not 2C, not 3C. His responsibilities need to be drastically reduced on the ice.

The problem becomes what do you fix? What can you fix? We would probably all agree a top 4 dman is necessary. Another centre for the PK would be nice, even better if it meant Tavares moved to the wing. Goaltending is definitely starting to get scary, all the credit to Jones but he’s given up 9 in his last two games and counting on him long term was always a pipe dream.

    That’s a mountain of a list in an off-season!

You guys can’t read his properly. Keefe isn’t calling out JT. He’s calling out Marner. But too afraid to say it.

  18. Thrillhouse918

And only like $20m locked up in two of the guys on said line. Amazing.

  19. RudyCarmine

I can’t stand Marner with Nylander, they take each other out the game and it removes a crutch that Tavares needs, especially against a cup contender. Goofy plan once again from Keefe

  20. Tavares is an enigma, when NYI got rid of him and got better, that’s a big red flag
