When the timing is right with health, yes. We’re scoring well this year, but our shooting percentage suggests that’s probably a bit lucky. He’s a dynamic offensive talent who brings skill that we lack in our top six and that we are bereft of in our prospect pool. We shouldn’t overpay for him (or anyone), but if the price is right, he’d be a strong addition.

    Worth a phone call.

The team needs a creative spark like him (part of the reason why Kane was brought in and Kane is 36 next season). He would be great to play with Larkin and Raymond. If Larkin or Compher misses time, you slot him back to center.

But the price might be steep due to his reputation/popularity. And possibly Verbeek might not like part of his game (Yzerman might feel the same).

Pick and prospect and everyone’s cool with it give or take.

Isn’t the reason he might be up for grabs because he lacks a 200 foot game?

Verbeek learned a lot of his values for player evaluation during his time in the Wings front office.

There is a strong likelihood that Yzerman has the same sentiment on Zegras as Verbeek and won’t even kick the tires.

No. Not even that his production has dropped. I have always read him as having negative energy I dont want in the locker room.

Not what we need imo. He’s basically another Kane, meaning his defense is trash (even if he does create offensively). Our biggest problem of late has been defense, so Zegras would be a net negative add.

  8. yes. Zegras gets a lot of shit but he’s a great player that gets blamed for a bad team having bad defense. that being said he’s been playing wing than center and we already have depth on the wings so I’m not sure where he would slot in. if we buy in while he’s injured and has been slumping all season he would be worth it for sure

I don’t think he’s necessarily what the Wings need, but he could be a good complementary piece. If his stock is low enough to get him on the cheap then I could see the Wings taking a flyer on him.

Still, the team needs a better blue line.

Not unless he came so cheap that it isn’t going to happen. He does not fit the profile of the Wings and doesn’t score enough to be an outlier as a roster fit.

This is so funny. Ppl here act like Raymond is Elite level fwd talent and same ppl shit on zegras.

Depends on the cost. No first and no Edvinsson. If we could do it for Burger, and one of the Johansson’s I’d be okay with that
