  1. Going to be interesting to see what they do at the trade deadline, I hope they pick up a veteran backup goalie. The biggest thing to me about this year's Oilers team vs last year's is the fact they are not relying on the PP to get it done anymore, which is really important in the playoffs.

  2. I don't know; but I'd love to see them surpass both LA and Vegas in the standings and get home ice advantage in the playoffs.

  3. It’s all about team and bring players closer to each other I think Paul Coffey is biggest impact he brought players together just like Glen Sather did I think Paul using that go oilers go you see they improve defensive game too

  4. Given the false start, this team is a dark horse to win the Cup, and that’s exactly where this team can thrive. When everyone is focusing on other teams and have counted the Oilers out, that’s when they quietly put up wins and gain points on more overstated teams.

  5. Taking a wait and see. When you look at the teams they have won against you could say it’s been an easier schedule. Curious to see how they do against the Leafs on Tuesday and also when they go up against teams like Vegas , the Avs and even LA.

  6. Kane seems to play through some injury. I will wait and see. I am sure they will make the Playoffs. If they keep up the depth in scoring they will do a deep run.If it dries up again and 97 and 29 are the only one to light up the scoreboard , it will be very rough and bumpy run.

  7. Only 3 out 10 team are playoffs teams not impressed about this winning streak. They better build before playoffs 2 players no goaltender .

  8. Pickard has been so underappreciated for this streak, 3-0 and it was never scary seeing him in net. Really hope he keeps developing at this rate. Yes he beat 2 worse teams but a big point of a backup is to be able to reliably beat the weaker teams to rest your starter

  9. I think it's going to be similar to the Kings when they set the NHL record for those away wins. Hit the record and immediately after lose the next game.

  10. The team isn’t even in final form yet. Below average production from the 2 superstars. Powerplay has been meh. Confidence will only build come the spring time. Things are looking good

  11. Two years ago, Avs were just the best team, straight up. Last season, Oilers lost against Vegas solely because the whole team played terribly in a few crucial games. They had them dead to rights but blew it by not playing up to their standard. IF they play every game up to their standard this year, they can absolutely go all the way. Avs should be their toughest competition in the West, but their lineup is not as good as the one that won them the cup, whereas the Oilers lineup is significantly better. Should be a Florida – Edmonton finals, and I would definitely give Oilers the edge, although Florida is clearly no pushover.

As for the people doubting Skinner, Vegas won last year with Brossoit and Hill. Skinner can absolutely take them all the way. They just need to trust him with the net permanently. And Pickard is fine as a backup.

  12. As an Oiler fan, I’d understand if they loose vs Toronto. Even if it’s a big beat down, they’re well due for it. Toronto, more specifically Matthews will make you pay for your costly turnovers, and mistakes that they have been making over the past 3 games. They haven’t looks entirely bad past 2 games, but they are worse teams that they struggled against. I hope they tighten up, who knows how long it goes. It’s a 50/50 game vs Toronto, then they have Seattle who shockingly have won 9 straight. Wow.

  13. They have an easy January schedule in terms of travel and rest and it doesn’t get challenging until February so they could very well continue to break records
