He's great. Class act, knows where to be to score, finishes hits, always moving whether it's defending, pressuring, opening up space… definition of a guy who plays the game right.

I loved coleman in Tampa, him gourde and goodrow were just an unstoppable line and maybe one of the most perfect 3rd lines ever seen. So happy to see him elevate his game.

Blake IS Healthy. You should be aware of this. He has stated it repeatedly. Also his first year on the Flames he did not have much of an offseason following Tampa’s cup run.
Are you one of those people who is convinced Tyler Toffoli is worth a first round pick (and so much more!) because ‘leading scorer’ blah blah (PLEASE IGNORE PREVIOUS 12 SEASONS). That Toffoli is more valuable than Blake? Why the fuck do people do that? Is it because he’s American? Or Tyler was a defensive liability in Vancouver and couldn’t skate on Montreal as opposed to New Jersey/Tampa Bay? I honestly do not understand. Whether it is nationality or some emphasis on Canadian markets.
How much time on the power play did Sutter give Coleman? Zero point Zero. He is now prominently featured on special teams. Sutter never gave Blake any consistent line pairings. We know he plays well with Backlund and Mangiapane. The past two months have seen Huska not fuck with line pairings. Not surprised at all.
Toffoli is a -10. Also not surprised.

I also have eyeballs. Neither the team nor the fans made that choice. All Stars selections are not performance based and there is no Santa Clause. Nearly every Flames fan would have suggested Blake before Elias. Maybe you’re trying out ‘cold takes.’

A few years ago I had the chance to eat lunch with Blake Coleman at a hockey camp in Massachusetts. Just a great genuine guy and a really good player
Such a disappointing loss for my VGK.. our injuries are crushing us. Hoping for turnaround after all star game like last year.

this just goes to show how Huberdeau isnt being effective, and the coach is going to be stubborn and not change the system to highlight his skills. So if the top guys arent producing, the secondary scorers could take less heat and somehow get more scoring chances.

I'm starting to think more players an become a game-breaker/star. It just takes an opportunity to showcase your individual skill on a consistent basis, actually making the most of those opportunities on a consistent basis, and most importantly belief and support from the decision makers.
I think marketing has made people believe that a player has to be unbelievable from 16-20 and wanted by every team to be a difference maker.
It's my belief that there are soooo many unbelievable players that could contend with the big dogs but just don't get lucky enough. Maybe I just don't think people should idealize a small number of people and then disregard everyone else but what do I know 😂🤷🏾♂️
Albertans deserve good hockey. I’m pro Alberta no doubt as an Oilers fan. The BOA in playoffs recently was incredible and I’ll never forget watching the games in packed bars split 50/50
