The New York Islanders found another way to lose a game they should have won in the closing seconds. The Isles played strong defense for 53 minutes but ill-timed penalties and defensive breakdowns cost them in a 3-1 loss to the Nashville Predators.

Lane is a deer caught in the headlights, puts out 4 slugs in the last min… terrible!!!!!!
Played a good road game, this is the way the Isles need to play. too bad they missed that point. Pageau’s line was out there too long at end and Nashville got a full clean change in the last few seconds, and the Isles didn’t… Pageau Martin were gassed and trapped in the D zone and Martin couldn’t clear it due to fatigue, then Mayfield blocks the shot and it shatters his stick and it flutters over Sorokin’s head into the net. Wash just split with Rangers without Ovetchkin and both games were close. Now we have to be concerned with them too.
After this year and maybe next year the playoff window will be closed for this team. Too many old players no real prospects, no first round picks, no legitimate coach, i sense the darks days will be back and this team will be a basement dweller once again…oh well, been a fan this long whats a few more decades without another cup
Team was also classless leaving bench before game ended like a bunch of babies
Also why is Wally in lineup if u don’t trust him and only playing him 8 minutes a game just start someone else it makes no sense, that’s a coaching problem. He starts in 1st line and plays 10 shifts a game its embarrassing just dot play him
It's games like this that tell me we're just not meant to be in the playoffs this year. This has happened too many times this season and there's still half a season to go.
How can this be a solid effort if they only scored one goal?
isles win one game lose the next good one bad the next can't hold leads blah blah blah because of poor coaching. isles so inconsistant they are predictable. with wings weekend sweep and 5-0-1 run with win over laffs isles now drop to 9th in east. Isles aren't talented enough to go on a long run to get back in playoffs and solidify a playoff spot. Especially with their one star goalie running on fumes right now. Prediction-if isles drop 5 pts. out louzer will cut bait with lame-0 coach. Hopefully louzer will be shown the door after the second half collapse occurs. Just hope that first doesn't go before louzer does.
A rookie coach running a veteran team never works. Coach won’t get respect because he is learning on the job. Lane may have been behind the bench as an assistant for many years, but running the show is totally different. The team needs an experienced coach like Gallant to have success. Proof is a team that was not expected to compete hires Trotz and has four really good years. Every coach we have had who was first time running the team even with quality players failed. Capuano, Weight, now Lambert.
Lamarillo has destroyed this team like others in the past, I’m done with talking about Lambert bye now we all know where he stands, hopefully someone comes in and cleans house, I would be trying to get youth out there playing, it’s all most like a horse race
We’re running old Nagg’s against thoroughbreds, I’m in my late 50’s and have come to terms very small chance I’ll get to see my team with a Stanley Cup, it was to much fun as a kid when the islanders were Champions winning !!!!
