  1. the Leafs are a microcosm of our dysfunctional and f**ked up world…funnel all the wealth to the top while everyone below suffers…and nothing ever really moves forward. THIS is why i love to watch them lose.

  2. Какой же полезный игрок Ларкин, Детройт каждый сезон все лучше и лучше играет, а был долгое время на дне. Если бы не вратарь листьев, то счет был бы еще больше.

  3. How poor is the leaf defense? You saw it the last two games. Blown big leads and goals with a few minutes left to lose the game. Would not be surprised if they have to fight to make it into the playoffs. Management is blowing the season.

  4. Ok.
So, to begin with, Samsonov was called upon SEVERAL times to make gigiantic saves before any goals were scored, and he MADE THEM. Most of them were the result of BLOWN coverage, with Detroit almost always having at least one player BEHIND Samsonov.

First goal, a brutal giveaway by McCabe behind the net, as he's kind of screwing around, unable to decide what to do. Detroit then passes it all around the Leafs who are all standing around doing nothing, and the shot goes in. Samsonov WAS down early on this one, but the puck was behind the net, and he had to stay down to cover the stuff play, and the shot should never have happened anyway. The giveaway, then the paralyzed defense… just brutal. They played with fire for the whole first period and Samsonov bailed them out, but he couldn't do it forever.

I don't usually comment on the Leafs' goals, but I have to say, that goal by Marner was a thing of BEAUTY. HOLY CRAP, that pass from Bertuzzi.

The next goal was a bit of bad luck, Reilly's stick breaking at an inopportune moment. They tried to get back to check the man, but couldn't catch up. Samsonov tried the poke check, which I don't think I would have done, but it was an aggressive play that showed some confidence. Something to build on, even if it didn't work.

Later on, we have a MARVELOUS save from Samsonov. This was necessary because of weak defense. Let's look at this one.
TWO Detroit players come into the Leafs' zone, on in the center with the puck, one on the right by the boards. BOTH Leafs defenders are in the middle. NEITHER takes the open man by the boards, even after he crosses to the middle. BOTH Leafs defenders instead check the man in the middle who no longer has the puck. That man shoots, but it deflects off a skate to the man who had originally had it on entering the zone, who is now all alone as NEITHER Leafs defender stayed with him. Samsonov, who reacted to the shot is down in the butterfly, and has to stretch out to make a tremendous save. TWO MORE Detroit players beat THREE Leafs to the man with the puck, because the two defenders were standing still watching the play. No goal, but BRUTAL defense.

The next goal (the game winner), is on ANOTHER BRUTAL GIVEAWAY BEHIND THE NET. The puck is dumped in by Detroit, and the Leafs get to it, dumping it around behind the net… to a Detroit player. There were no Leafs at all on that side of the ice, so who was this pass TO? The Leafs scramble, and leave the WHOLE MIDDLE OF THE SLOT open with NO ONE covering ANYONE. Detroit player takes the puck and skates past the whole Leafs team, who are flailing around like FALLING leaves, and takes the shot. Samsonov is hamstrung, as his defenseman is running over him as he's trying to check the Detroit player in front of the net. So, screened and interfered with, no chance for Samsonov.

Final goal is an empty net. I'm sure someone will try to blame Samsonov for that too. As is usual for this team, the defense is HORRENDOUS. I gather Keefe thinks they're fine. They're NOT.

  5. I remember the days of Bob Cole, Danny Gallivan (Hockey Night in Canada) plus Bruce Martyn and Sid Abel (Detroit Red Wings). There was such a uniqueness to those announcers that seem to be lacking in today's cookie-cutter announcers.

  6. День удался Торонто мимо, хорошее настроение на целый день теперь…

  7. And i also new copp would turn it around, but what i really love about these last 3 games is we got points against 3 contenders in a row, that really shows you something about our group.

  8. Глядя на физиономию Тавареса после пропущенного гола, хочется спросить, что опять Самсонов виноват?

  9. i don't know what the redwings had on the flight and at the airport but you can tell this win meant something a little more than usual. They cleared and boxed out in front of Reimer quite well on 2nd chances and tend to have a stick on the puck each time Toronto tried to come inside.

  10. Tune into the 3rd to see HOLMBERG on the FIRST LINE? Can someone tell Keefe that the 2nd spot in the division isnt locked up like it was last year and these line experiments at the cost of crucial, divisional matchup points actually matter?

  11. The leafs hate their goalie. Zero conversion on power play. 91, 89, total waste of time.
Can we just clear the fckin puck. How’s that for a first lesson!?! Ffs.. where the hell are you 46mm?

  12. Not seeing nylander much in highlights since he signed his career contract. Time to just take it easy for 8 years. Thanks for the no trade clause 😅

  14. keefe is in meltdown mode. last nights comments about mackinnion, toews and makar sealed the deal for me. just not something you'd ever want to hear from a coach. and then he continues to put out these weird lines

  15. Samsonov played well 😎 really pleased for him – the diving glove save in the 3rd was brilliant. Shame about the rest of the Leafs. If they make the play-offs Bertuzzi is gonna be their 10 ft guy, just watch!

  16. I was bugged they didn’t play Jones and grab this more important game ( check the standings!)—but Sammy was fine. Leafs and Nylander wanted it more in Sweden than here.

  17. home game lost again? and I bet on Toronto again and again and lost good money🤣🤣

something is wrong in Toronto)) there are so many talented players, but they are losing again 😂
