Jake Guentzel goaltender interference – Have your say!

Jake Guentzel had a goal taken away after this contact with Sabres net minder Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. A coach’s challenge review was deemed to have found enough contact to overturn the call of good goal. What do you think? Have your say!

  1. It doesn’t look like enough to overturn the call on the ice to me. Guentzel’s outside the blue paint, it’s minimal contact, and it doesn’t look like the goalie would have made save even without the light contact.

  2. Personally – I'm done w/ slow motion replays – it's getting out of control. The refs should get to look at a replay, in real time, on the jumbo-tron, and if a call can't overturn it based on that, keep the game moving.
No one used to care if a play was 1/8th of an inch offside or if a goalie was lightly brushed up against. When it should be called back, it's obvious, if it's not obvious, it tedious and focusing on the tedious is bad for the game.

  3. I think its hard enough for Goalies to stop the puck now days they should be goven space to do so , this one is very close though , hos elbow does look like it touched the goalies mask

  4. best seen from @0:35 above camera view, reduced to x0.25 it's clear the netminders head is OUTSIDE the RED line when contact is made.
    Good Goal imho.

  5. Nope…. league already made it clear that as long as you are out of the paint… you can use your stick and mess with the goalie and the goal will count!!

  6. That was a really smart play , the second the shot was taken, he crossed right over the goalie's line of site…that's how it should be done…
