Sadly being the market we are, (a smaller Canadian one) zary probably won’t get the recognition he deserves.
I feel like Berard is going to get alot of votes no matter what just because he is who he is and its going to take quite a point margin (or points per game) to overcome that. Even though if you listen to blackhawks fans.. he’s been a bit of a defensive liability.

Artemi Panarin won the Calder over Connor McDavid in a large part because McDavid was injured. You still hear people bitch about this today because they fail to recognize it is about which rookie had the best season, not which rookie is the best overall player. I would much rather fans bitch about another player deserving an asterisk beside their win.
