Perry-Kampf-Gregor is your 4th line shut down line
If the Leafs want to sign Perry to a minimum deal for the rest of the season fine. Whatever. The Leafs really should be focusing on improving their defence as much as possible.
He's a stiff I understand he's cheap but…
They need to stand up in the neutral zone on defence and stop the dump and chase from the neutral zone on offensive rushes .
Watch the game closely tonight, we are getting outplayed in the neutral zone going both ways.
It’s coaching that needs to step up and highlight this to the team.
Anything more than a league minimum deal is a bad idea. Not that they could not use Perry's work ethic and fight. The last several games have shown that the Leafs lack grit and an ability to play for more that 20 min a night. Too many blown leads where they are badly outplayed. The Leafs are still terribly soft. Mackinnon's goal last night is all you need to watch — Nylander bouncing off him at the start of the play before several players are left flailing on the ice as he snipes the winner.
That all said, I don't think they get him — there are enough teams who will outbid them. Toronto has no cap space. The need to make some smart trades for players who will be around next year and make the team harder to play against for a full 60 minutes a night.

He had a few too many drinks at a "team function". He said something politically incorrect. A snowflake Chicago Blackhawks employee was "upset" and "offended".
Any other NHL team and it's no big deal.
Corey Perry hates the Leafs
Corey Perry's presence on this Leaf's roster would be a definite upgrade. Perry has the ability to elevate his game, and those around him, especially in the playoffs. I'd rather have him on my team than play against him. Sign Perry!
Yeah I think right now .. Keefe & others are realizing there team is lacking consistancy & better play from both the D & the forwards. There are some ovious places of inprovement in that the player isnt effective or a good fit n needs to move on or retire.

I would definitely be interested seeing Perry become a Leaf! If the price is right do it!
He brings experience and maybe shakeup the weak minded players we currently have.
I'm a Mark Giordano fan. I really like the guy and I am absolutely sure he's good to have in the dressing room. But this season, and especially since coming back, he's lost a step or two and as much as I like him, its time. I really like Kampf but, the team comes first. As as much as I've absolutely hated Corey Perry when he was in Montreal and Tampa…. I think we'd have won a couple of those series if he was in the correct blue and white.
Hopefully they'll lose tonight and Keefe gets fired

Doesn’t matter if there’s mutual interest, nobody in Leafs management has the balls to bring in Perry. The fact that the Union is now involved could mean the Hawks went overboard. Dumass had the chance to get Perry a couple of years ago, and he wanted to come But he ended up a Hab.

Perry would be great for the Leafs, this team has no Captain, no leadership and Perry could be the spark they need.
I wouldn't be opposed to the Leafs signing Perry. He's a dick, and you need guys like that in the playoffs.

I hope they sign him. He would be a great addition in the bottom 6. A ton of tenacity, grit, and can still score especially in the playoffs

This is a pipe dream.
If Leafs have chance to sign Perry, they should do so. However, Leafs rarely seem to do the sensible thing, so not holding my breath on this. Not going to look good on Treliving if Perry winds up going to the Panthers or Edmonton. Room can be created by either trading Timmins or sending him to AHL.
Andrew first and foremost treliving has gotta fix the defence first but yes perry would be good for the leafs

Everyone is in for a rude awakening if they think the Leafs are going to pick up Perry. With all the recent controversy that's been rumoured to be "unethical" surrounding him, the Leafs won't touch him with a ten foot pole! It will be a media frenzy and nightmare not to mention a stain on their woke image.

First things first. Sammy ain’t coming out of this funk he is in. It’s to bad. Don’t k ow what happened to him. Hopefully he can rebound but it’s gonna have to be on another team. Leafs can’t afford to play like they have been playing.

I'm not sure adding Perry will matter, the team needs multiple moves to be a true contender. This might be the year to be a seller and not a buyer..start with a coaching change as they've tuned him out and see what happens before the trade deadline
