Honestly. We need a offensive 2nd line center. I think this first line is already at the top of the league and its also one of the youngest lines. I agree with a trade like Newhook. Zegras in my eyes perfectly fits that trade. A top 6 of

It’s time the habs make a move for an established allstar , enough picks , enough defensemen and goalie prospects. They have to focus on offense and not on the 2nd ,3rd or fourth line , they need a legit first liner, the habs have nothing in the system with first line potential so they’ll have to aquire it through a trade or UFAs. Not much on the UFA market in term of players interested in playing in Montreal so……..the only option is through a trade .
They really messed up by picking reinbacher in a draft that was so deep in offensive talent
Kent has to watch these trades though man, I would rather have Frank Nazar than Kirby Dach atm, I was excited about Dach dude but idk how this trade will end long term.

I remember at the start of the year everyone was talking PLD well look how inept he has been this year good thing we didn't waste more over paying over rated players. How much money do you think Hutson's manager is going to demand in a couple years….6/7 9 mil?The habs are going to be stuck in no mans land over spending on players they like but have no bonafide sueprstars. Neither Newhook or Dach are impact players unlike the past Habs cup where we had a big impact player that played amazing two way hockey that was not paid the farm >>Mike Keane.The habs have no Mike Keane's no brian Skrudlands no shut down players like Cabonneau we have a pile of AHL players. I fully understand th ewhole politics/economics side where we will never see the best possible Habs team but that is how all teams/managers have to play the game outside the game only the Habs do it worse. Can you imagine if in the past 2 years we did draft a super star like a McKinnon we couldn't afford him beyond his entry level contract.So I see the Habs window maybe staying open for a max of 2 years that is of course WHEN and IF we get there.After that I see an exodus and hten back to the bottom again .

The player we will sign in the 2025 summer is Connor Mcdavid the rebuild will officially be over (I am absolutely still delusional)
Kirby Dach is halfway through his 4 year contract. He played just 14 games so far for the Habs. Deal isn't looking that great at the moment.
