Jim Montgomery ‘PROUD’ of Bruins After 3-0 Win vs Devils | Postgame Interview 1/15/24
That’s not an easy game for us after you know being in four three different time zones and eight days and today’s the ninth day of playing uh five games and we get seven out of 10 because of the start we had I think momentum from the
Uh last game the second and third period the way we played I think carried over into the first and then I think we’re running out of fumes but we really managed the game well you know we had some turnovers but the other team’s going to make a push in the second and
Then I thought in the third we really came out and sealed it how important was that go right out of the gate second period after not a break through yeah it was important cuz sometimes you wonder right starts to creep in your mind we’re going to get one do was playing really
Well this one of the few games in a row where you put Mar together with Co and like specifically about that Trio and together no we played a couple of teams that have been because they’re lineup I don’t know if it’s injuries or what but they’ve been heavy on one line so it
Allows me to go strength against strength and worked out both nights you did have the one high sticking penalty in the third period but other than that no no other power plays given up was that indicative of how you were playing do you think I do I think uh you
Know we’ve talked about uh taking too many miners a lot um we’ve shown them recently and I think it’s starting to have an impact on guys keeping their sticks on the ice and getting on the right side of pucks using their legs to check hopefully that’s what’s happening
How encouraging has it been to see that sort of increase in the boys and their situations towards the end of the game the goal he’s pulled and you know making the right plays to get the good looks at the NBA yeah it’s nice to see the maturation in our group you know last
Year it was um pretty easy as there so many players have been through it and now we’re starting to I think see the progress in the group in those situations of players being used to being in those moments and owning the moment Swan with the shut out he had a
Great season last year too in your year and a half how would you assess his game in terms of overall development poys the whole sort of package that you and goalie Bob assess yeah well well when I look at you know sway’s game I think he’s continues to improve he’s much
Better this year than he was last year his game management is better when to take a a face off when not to when when to move the puck up and recognizing the other teams changing we can catch them um and then just his over all uh presence in the crease I mean he’s
Always had a Swagger and confidence to him but now he really seems to be dialed in as to tracking and his depth and the creases you know that’s something that Bob can talk a lot more intelligently about but you know it’s some things that Bob and I have talked about that he’s
Noticed that talks to me about and then I notice it how do you like sway’s response I think you include the Arizona game he’s played five straight how do you like his response to kind of being given the n Le recovers being the guy
Yeah I mean it’s it’s nice to be able to see him have this opportunity um if lenus wasn’t injured we wouldn’t have seen it but his makeup is someone that wants the net every night um you know lenus has that too uh but the uh Swagger that he brings it
Feels like he never gets tired and he is in tremendous shape and condition so that probably helps his mental but his mental attitude his positivity he exudes it
BOSTON — Head Coach Jim Montgomery praised his team’s resilience following the Bruins’ 3-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils, led by Swayman’s remarkable 31-shot shutout. Montgomery highlighted the team’s challenging schedule, saying, “Really proud of our group. That’s not an easy game for us after being in three different time zones in eight days, and today’s the ninth day of playing five games. We managed to get seven out of 10 [points].” This statement underscores the team’s perseverance and success despite a demanding stretch of games.

Swayman is due for a raise. Playing the same amount of games as Ullmark (or more)with the same responsibility (or more). Ullmark 5mil, Sway 3.4mil. Make no wonder he's bitter over arbitration.
They get paid enough, and Swayman needs to stop complaining about his team mates.
