I know this comment is made every time one of his videos is posted, and always gets massively downvoted, but I have to throw in the obligatory “this guy is really annoying.” To each their own, if other people enjoy his content then that’s great and they can have fun with that, I just struggle to comprehend the appeal.

I didn’t really agree with his Nylander rant. I like a lot of things that Dangle said but it kinda seemed pointless. He honestly looked pretty good defensively, only being a minus one during that stretch. Maybe he should of let that anger bubble up for another game or too.
Yes he makes 11+ mil next season and yes, we should rarely ever see him go pointless but those 3 games we’re on Keefe. IMO he was obviously out coached for most of those game; it’s a team sport and I think the short comings this season is him. I never really seen him as a strategist or a hard nose coach; i barely even understand his coaching style.
Those starting line ups he posted last night to hold people “accountable” were barely used. Based on the ice time that game, he pretty much reverted back to the regular top six expect knies.

The thing I find most frustrating is the phrase “It’s a team game.”
In a vacuum, you’re absolutely correct.
But teams don’t play in a vacuum. In fact, they play within a Salary Cap.
The Cap, allows us to construct teams using finite resources. When half of the resources available go to 4 people, those 4 people MUST contribute.
We can’t finger wag and complain about close to league min players having misplays. They’re league min players for a reason.
When our platinum covered players no show, are we really going to say “Well, see there’s the problem! The guy making league min didn’t pick up the slack for the guy that makes TEN TIMES his salary.”
It’s simply unfair to say “It’s a team game.” as if, all players have similar ability. They do not and their salaries are supposed to reflect that.
Auston Matthews makes 10x Nick Robertson.
…and we’re all here demanding Nick do more and play more while Auston sits at no contributions for key games. Or Martin Jones sitting at 875k.
Imagine that. Where we’re like “Martin Jones you’re the line between winning and losing!” at 875K but Matthews, at 11+ million can do nothing and it’s fine.
Wild.
Yeah, when you put half your cap into four people, you don’t blame the people collecting comparative peanuts for non-performances, that’s why they get peanuts. You blame the dude eating steak every night wearing gold chains…

Leafs are just not a great team, they wont be for many years, it just be like that sometimes. Decent teams can still win the cup with a lot of luck.
