Ten wins in a row! | Oilersnation Everyday with Tyler Yaremchuk Jan 15th

The Edmonton Oilers set a franchise record on Saturday night with their tenth win in a row. Samuel Montembault did everything in his power to prevent the Oilers from beating the Montreal Canadiens, but a Evan Bouchard slap shot in overtime hit the post and then Montembault to give Edmonton a 2-1 lead.

With the win, Edmonton now sits only one point behind the Los Angeles Kings, who are third in the Pacific Division. Fortunately for the Oilers, while they have been winning, the Kings and Vegas Golden Knights are two of the coldest teams in the NHL. The Kings have won only two of their last ten and the Golden Knights have only three wins in that period too.

The gap is tightened and with the three more games on the schedule this week, the Edmonton Oilers have a great opportunity to make their way back into the conversation.

Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin go live today for Oilersnation Everyday at noon on the Oilersnation YouTube channel. They will break everything down from Saturday’s game along with Zach Hyman and Evan Bouchard not getting selected to the 2024 NHL All Star game in Toronto. If you have a question, comment or concern you’d like to ask, head to the Booster Juice live YouTube chat to drop your comments in throughout the show.

  1. When we start talking about the “other star players” on this team aside from McDavid and Draisaitl, that discussion needs to start with Bouchard now. I would argue that what Bouchard is doing as a defencemen right now is every bit as impressive as what Hyman is doing, but the difference is that one guy’s in his early twenties and the other is in his early thirties. I saw someone put up “who has the best trio in the NHL and they put up Nugent-Hopkins with Draisaitl and McDavid, but I don’t think the NHL has come around to recognizing that Bouchard might be the best offensive defenceman in the NHL not named Makar.

  2. i was in the building on Saturday. It was great to hear all the boooos and stick it to the Habs fans. I had my McFarlane Oilers jersey on that i wore Game 5 vs Carolina in the 2006 finals and we also won that game in OT. The jersey delivered again hahaha
